I see that us002840 has black stripes on the candy apple red. I am about to get a black exterior 2013 GT Convertible. I really want to put red stripes on it. And I am thinking of using the candy apple red color from the 2013 mustang. This would be painted not vinyl. It will go bumper to bumper including over the windshield that one small 6" of metal above it. I am thinking of dual 10-12" strips down the center with 1-2" black between them with a silver 3/4"-1" border on the outside of the large stripes as an accent.

I will also be getting a hard plastic paintable tonneau cover which would be painted black to match the color of the car and the stripe on it to match up with the car.

What is everyones opinion of this color combination? I really wanted the candy apple red with the brick red cashmere interior. Ford doesn't allow this color combination. So I went with black exterior with brick red cashmere.

I am also looking for suggestions of how best to stripe the sides. I am currently thinking just straight along the rockers. But am considering a flare from top of hood near windsheild that comers over and down the sides.

 

Anyone have any pix of DIB with racing stripes? I'm debating getting white GT500 stripes

 

If you can wait a week or so I'll have mine back from the body shop. Black overall with two 10" bands bump to bumper. Color is a shade of red that's pretty close to candy apple...no other stripes surrounding it. I considered banding the stripes with silver but didn't want the paint to start looking too busy. The lines of the car stand on their own. The two bands are just a little eye pop for the Prius drivers to dirty their pants over.

Does anyone know if the OTT factory stripes on the 2013 end at just the front hood edge? I am seeing some 2013 pictures where they are bumber edge to bumper edge (like GT 500) but did not see it as a factory option. BTW baddass pics on the pics. My last Mustang (I just sold) had the stripes like the GT500.

 

Your car looks mean!!!! Only thing I would add...paint the rockers.....the front looks heavy with them gray.

Thanks, I had that car for 6 years and never was looking to buy another till I saw the new 2013 GTHIG and all the new options. This was the car I just sold to make room for the 2013.. I wanted to know more about the Factory OOT stripes installed at the factory.
