Holy Cow!! Canadian mileage ratings V6 25/41mpg, GT 23/37mpg

EDIT: ****, it's been so long I forgot about the Imperial gallon. Corrected numbers are below, they're still well above the EPA numbers though.

Just saw some window stickers for two Canadian cars. As far as I know, Transport Canada didn't adopt the more "realistic" testing requirements that the EPA did.

NOTE: Both the L/100km and the MPG (imperial) are shown on the window sticker. I have converted the imperial mileage to US gallons below so we're talking apples to apples.

V6 coupe with manual trans: 21 mpg city, 36 mpg highway (Actual displayed metric consumption is 11.1L /100km city, 6.9L/100km highway)
GT vert with manual trans: 20/32 mpg (Actual displayed metric consumption is 12.2L/100km city, 7.6 L/100km highway)

This should give you an idea about what to guess for the V6 mileage contest.

No, something definitely not right there.

For one thing, Canada is all metrics so there should not be any MPG ratings, maybe kilometers per deciliter or something like that.

It's L/100km here, but they put both units on the stickers because most people still think in MPG.

Actually, I just remembered there's one more factor. We used to use imperial gallons, which are about 4.5 quarts.

That's the point, they don't do gallons, they do liters, and no miles, it's kilometers.

Erinwood Ford, canada's #1 mustang reseller by volume, has no 2011s in stock. I bought my 2010 grabber blue v6 from them last year the first week of availability. I find it highly unlikely that's a 2011 in stock, or the sticker you saw.

As for the mileage ratings, i can check my window sticker if you want to confirm the 2010 #s on canadian lots...it was in L/100km.

EDIT: I notice you're from Quebec, so i'm not sure how they do things there (provinces of course vary, and quebec varies alot in most things). That said, i don't think there's any 2011s in stock yet in canada.

EDIT EDIT: And Erinwood has at least 20 2010s left in stock, so i'm guessing yeah they're probably not taking 2011s until absolutely necessary. Guess that explains it.

I didn't see any cars, just their window stickers.

Holy Cow Canadian Mileage Ratings @ Windsor Rose City Ford

I went for a hunt for some Canadian numbers and found this on the Rose City Ford website.
They state the GT gets 11.8L /100km in the city and 7.8L/100 km on Hwy.

That pretty much matches the 12.2/7.6L that's on the window stickers.

that sounds right, if you convert the mileage rating they have now to the pre 2008 rating style the cars would have shown that high
