The HID Question....?

Normally I'm a big fan of HID headlights. I bought the Saleen kit and put them in my 05 GT. I was looking forward to getting them in a 2011 GT until last night. They looked stupid on the GT vert on Speed. Being so close to the fogs made them look out of place. I'm not sure why Ford put the projectors on the outside of the headlight. What did you all think?

I think it'll look better with all the lights on.

Perhaps another example of Ford offerring enough variety to broaden the car's appeal?

Some folks like the inboard parking lights/turn signals; some folks wanted them on the outboard side. This way either group can be satisfied.

Looks like win-win, to me...

I love the look, and plan on maybe even deleting the fogs, or replacing them with projectors on mine as well. I am sure you can get an aftermarket HID kit that would keep the factory lens, but still have the nice light output. I think this modernizes the car a bit, love em!

I was surprised to see the 2 different styles and think it is great. I like that we can customize the look of the outside of the car without going aftermarket. It definitley changes the look of the front, though, depending on which style you go with.

Cheers

It looks better in that shot. I know I'd still get them, just do a fog delete when an new aftermarket grille comes out.

I'm wondering if there are some clearance issues with the standard mounting that required the switch for HIDs. Personally, I don't care for the arrangement since it makes the car look a bit cross-eyed in head-on views.

Holy crap, the 10+ stangs come with projector lenses?? That is so sweet, kinda wants to make me want to buy a new stang just for the projectors. Wonder if you could do a retro fit of the new projectors to the 05+ stangs?

I'm looking at the order guide on the official website, and they say that the HID's are late availability. How late, and can I retrofit them if I get one before they're available? I like to see in the dark, you know...

I just ordered our 1st GT (Grabber with all options sans Nav) and the HIDs took and there was NO WARNING stating it was a "late availibility option". Go ahead and order them.
