Come on... mustang owners are never too old !!
I saw today a lady that was around 70 in a green 01' stang... that put a smile on my face !!

WTF??? You must be trying to justify the extra money you spent on HID's. My Mustang has HID's because they were oem and it was the car I wanted. But the light output sucks. I have a SVT focus for my DD and I installed Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs and love them. They throw light a good 500' farther than the HID's in my 'stang and light up both sides of the road into the tree-line. As for longevity I've had the same bulbs for over two years now.

My bullitt has HIDs and my 03 Svt focus had HIDs. Much better light than silverstars in my 05 GT. I do a fair bit of night driving on back roads here in the rainy NW and they definitely do a better job.

A few weeks ago, I saw a 2009 Grabber Orange V6 w/Pony pkg. sitting out in front of Walgreens in the handicap spot. Were talking January in Wisconsin, and it looked freshly washed & waxed. I come out and there are two little old ladies (guessing in their 80's) getting into it !!
So say if this woman were 85, she would have been 40 in 1965 so she could have been a Mustang nut like us most of her adult life ... this could be her 10th Mustang for all I know.

The look takes some getting used too for some people but I have always liked them. They are definitely much nicer to drive at night with though! The aftermarket offers some that look closer to factory non-HID than the factory HID's but I prefer the warranty, especially with the cost of replacement.

Did a little research and the "D3S" HID bulb the Mustang uses is shared with other OEM's making it somewhat common. Even Amazon has them for "only" $115.66 ... less than half the MSRP price for a replacement from a Ford dealer.
D3S HID bulbs have an average life of 2000 hours ... with all my night driving this would equate to over 6 years or 125,000 miles.
I've been doing my same "dark" commute for 18 years / over 375,000 miles and had plenty of "close" calls with deer and other wildlife. Well ok, I did hit a dog with my Fairmont 16 yrs ago or so (bent license plate only damage) and a big raccoon in our Grand Caravan a couple of years back (busted a chunk out of bumper cover, but not that noticeable). However most people I know have hit at least ONE deer in their lives so I'm either just lucky, a little more observant, or both.
As I'm ordering a Premium V6 w/ MCA pkg, the appearance mis-match with the fogs will not be an issue just as it will not be on a GT/CS.
I'm getting old (47 coming up fast) and feel I can't be lucky forever so you've all done a great job of talking me into ordering my car with them, THANKS AGAIN everyone

I've probably seen your Bullitt around town or at a local show.
I've got the Competition Orange '04, a Calypso Coral (same Orange) '69 Hardtop, and a Black '67 Fairlane Hardtop that I'm sure you've seen around town. I've owned the '69 since 1981 and the Fairlane since 1987 ... moved to TR in 1992. Have been a member of the Lakeshore Knights club for 8-10 years ... great bunch, but most worship GM. I have not been all that active with the club lately other than the Walsh Field Show, and typically only do a couple of other shows all summer.
If you are anywhere near as die hard of a FORD guy as I've been my whole life, maybe we ought to meet up sometime ... send me a PM !!

Don't know why they didn't go with a smooth black housing instead of the weird silver. It's already bug-eyed, so might as well make it sporty! I vote yes for HIDs, despite the appearance.
