Exclamation Help! I'm an idiot and I need your help!!!

I put my wipers up this morning to wash my car. After I dried everything up, I decided to pop my hood open to clean underneath...Like a total moron idiot, I forgot to put the wipers down and I ended up pushing the hood up against the wipers and wedged the left wiper (left if you sat inside the car looking out) up against the top edge of the hood. Fortunately, the right wiper snapped back onto the windshield when the hood went up...so it is okay. Not only did I scratch the top edge of the hood, but the left wiper is misaligned. I pushed it back into what I thought was where it should be...please take a look at this photo. Is this where your left wiper is positioned when it is turned off? Should I move it down more to horizontally align w/ the end of the right wiper? Help!!!

It really doesn't matter, turn them on and see what area it is wiping. If it stays on the glass, don't worry about it.

I would confirm the position but I take mine off and put them back on when it rains which isn't very often so they're not in factory position.

Just finished washing my car as well, and looked at my wipers position and it looks pretty similar to what i'm seeing in your photo.

The wiper arms are mounted with splines hopefully it didn't strip from the movement if so.. hopefully it's just the wiper arm, and not the base...

Thanks, fake...well folks, I learned that I shouldn't have tried turning the wiper arm to reposition it...I may have slightly stripped something since it is mounted on splines (as voyager 1700 mentioned)...I was able to refer to:
http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=471&viewfil...ivot%20Arm.pdf

...took it apart and mounted the arm back to wear it was...tested it and all is fine...thanks for everyone's help!

these hoods are aluminum and will corrode faster than steel if exposed...I'd get some touchup on there asap if its down to the metal... on the back edge shouldnt be noticeable, just dont want water getting under it causing the paint to bubble up

Overall, you still came out lucky. Had a friend do that one time, and the wiper hit just right when it slammed down and broke the windshield.

Oooh... Now I'm counting on it, then Ford will warranty the part, right?

/lifetime corrosion protection, for the win... Or did I miss something?
//I'm probably misremembering, but I don't think so...
