I want to do a simple 75 shot wet system, but I want it completely idiot proof with no risk of damaging my car/engine. Is this possible? Here are my concerns...

This car will by my daily driver and only car. Well, ok...maybe its not my only car, but I DO NOT want to drive my beater...or have a broken car that I'm making payments on...

I want it completely idiot proof. I want my gf or mom to be able to drive this thing with the nitrous armed and have zero worries that something is going to explode.

I want it always armed. Is there a downside to this?

From the minor research I've done on the internet, it seems there are 4 major dangers with low shot wet nitrous:
1. fuel pudding
2. fuel mixture control
3. should not turn on at below 3000 RPM
4. should only turn on at WOT

1. can be solved with a plate system, right? or is this not even necessary with a 75 shot system?

Most kits (or at least Zex) comes with fuel control systems, so 2. is taken care of, right?

3. and 4. are non issues cuz the kits come with sensors to prevent the nitrous from coming on at the wrong RPM, right?

So is it possible? A 75 shot nitrous system that is 100% idiot proof and 95% safe...?

Thanks for the info!

P.S. How many seconds with a 10 lb bottle last with the above setup?

If you want a totally risk free mod than don't go Nitros. It will totally VOID you warranty, hands down. If you want a real thrill than go for it. Most mods come with risks. You make the decision. It would be great fun if done properly.

There currently is not a plate system for the 05, there is only a dry or wet nozzle kit. Zex does have the fuel control module but there is the possibility of turning on the juice below 3000 RPM. It is turned on by how the module recognizes a wide open throttle position, as you know your car can be WOT but below 3000 RPM, this is not bad unless you are in a higher gear with a load on the motor. The module does not idiot proof the system, there is still also a problem with hitting a rev limiter on the juice wich is extremely bad because fuel and nitrous loads up in the cylinders that have the spark taken away and when it returns on the next revolution there is too large of an explosion as well as early detonation. Finally if you have manual you need a window switch to idiot proof it, this allows the nitrous only to be engaged when the clutch is not, keeping you from missing a shift and hitting the bottle WOT. Don't wire the system to always be armed, too dangerous even if you are a pro. If you need more info let me know.

I was just about to tell him that idiot proof would mean not installing the nitrous.

There is no explosive proof kit. Did you not see the tape of the engine explosion here on the forum?
