Yea the CARB laws around here can definently take out some of the fun in modding our cars and add headaces!! But like I said it's not gonna stop me from putting an exhaust and intake on my car

Glad to hear rebellion against irrational unreasonable rules is in the air in the People's Republic!

I plan on moving back after I retire, will go live up in the foot hills or mountains. Really the only places you have to worry about this crap is the overly populated areas. I think my home town is one of the bi-annually areas, so after the first 6 years you just got to bolt some stock parts on every other for a smog. Of course after that long they might have some CARB approved stuff.

When you have a cousin mechanic, it's not hard to find a shop willing to overlook visual. No shop will hook you up if you just walk in and ask. You need to know the shop, or know someone who knows the shop.

If you live out in the boonies, there are no smog checks
