You're not going to see any benefits from the axle-backs alone, other than sound. Swap out the H-pipe for an X-pipe with an axle-back system and you should net 7-10hp. That seems to be the going rate for companies that offer both (like Corsa).
You'll see a lot more than 7-10rwhp if you swap to an O/R X-Pipe and then axle-backs. Like 20hp/15tq. JUST from the X-Pipe alone.

Check out how my car sounds.

ZERO drone on the highway. You can hear it with the windows down and with the windows up, you can just barely hear it while cruising and you don't have to raise your voice at all to be heard. It's a nice, clean sound and you can tell that what you hear is coming out of the tail pipe, not droning. Quiet when you want it to be, except for the first 10 seconds or so when you first start up cold , and the whole deal was less than $500. BBR O/R X-pipe was around $240 shipped during last years Christmas sales, the Flowmaster Super 44's were $75 each from a reputable exhaust shop and then, I had the whole deal welded in. Grand total including parts was $498.50.

The GT500 mufflers do sound good though. With the X-Pipe, they sound even better. Either way you go, you'll be happy I think. But me personally, I like the more aggressive sound of the Super 44's.

Those do sound good, however I doubt you have zero drone. Most/All flow master folks love the sound during startup, idle, takeoff, etc... but complain about the drone. Most folks who had flows, ended up removing them. Now maybe you truly don't have any drone, but I doubt it.

OR X-pipe is going to give you more, and add to the volume by replacing/removing the stock cats as well. My comment was based on Corsa's system with both the axle-back and the X-pipe installed.

I'll take a better video in the car. In that video, you hear the camera shaking and the tire sounds, but no drone and as I stated in the video, that was with the windows up and 2,000rpm. The prime drone RPM.

Great info, thanks! So, it leads me to my next question. If I go with an X-pipe + GT500 mufflers, will I need a re-tune?

Only if you get a catless/off-road X-pipe. Most likely you'll get a CEL for a lean bank at idle with the OR X-pipe. With a standard X, you'll be fine.

Thanks (FromZto5), your video is good. I'm looking at (www.latemodelrestoration.com), where these GT500 Axle-Back mufflers sell for around $260, built by Ford Racing. Where did you get yours?
