This has me a bit worried.

+1 This is teh interwebz! First hand product knowledge and experience ruins the poster's credibility. Had he seen the proof in a chain email, he could post it as Gospel.

Supposedly he totaled the 2010 with less than 500 on the odometer and then immediately bought a 2011. Did he crash it on purpose to cash in from insurance? Hmmm

Did anybody else think of "awesome resistance to the sun" when they read that? It seemed like he was more intent on sucking his own d*** than anything else in that thread. I'll quote him:
Oh. Sure. Well I'll go ahead and tell Lockheed martin to cancel the F-22 and F-35, and call Northrop to recall all the B-2s, and while we're at it I'll call Grumman's shipbuilding division to stop production on the LCS and I'll send a letter to GE and Bath Iron Works to recall all Virginia class submarines immediately, because they were all designed largely using CAD.
This dude's a class A toolbag.

I'll let you know how it goes!
More than likely I'll drive in, park my car and be ashamed that I am not flying one. Anywhos I agree on the toolbag. The guy seems knowledgeable enough, a little too much for your machinist/tech advisor/engineer to the stars. I don't know, just sounds fishy to me. Even if they did push the engine out sooner than expected like our friend Ra, the sun god, mentioned, there was still about 3 years of testing or so done to the engine as well. 2nd, I probably wouldn't consider this engine for trucks as much anyway, it would take some serious tuning to get the torque numbers in a good spot for hauling anyway.
I could carry on but I'm tired.

He may (or may not, I honestly didn't understand most of what he was saying, I'm not a machinist or an engineer in that sense) know his stuff, but he hasn't proven his motives are genuine yet. There's not much that can be said for this sort of thing either. Either Ford eventually comes out and confirms it or we hear nothing more of it, which isn't any different from how it would have gone anyway, except more people will freak out about it.
The new engine draws a lot of strong feelings, especially when the first vehicle to get it is the Mustang GT, and especially with it being the promised competition to Camaros and Challengers, renewing the Mustang's powertrain. But because it's unproven in mass production it's very easy to spread rumors about it. A lot is riding on it.
We need real evidence, not hearsay.
