Has anybody else considered cancelling their order, and buying a dealer car?

So I placed my order 2/10. It took quite a while to get a vin, when I finally did I found out my car was built 5/19. Then delayed to 5/21. Finished 5/21. I have had 3 ETA's so far, May 31, June 10, June 15th...

I am not expecting the car on the 15th. But at this point, I', honestly considering buying a dealer car somewhere out of state. I dont know how much longer I can wait. Yes, I know I am sounding like a complaining SOB. I am having dragway withdrawls

Anybody else in the same boat?

Yep. I'm going in to cancel tomorrow and HOPE I get my refund back. I'll let them order me another one or I'll go buy one somewhere else. I'm not waiting for a car that has been built for 35 days already with no ETA and no explanation for WHY it's not shipping.

The dealer can have the first car whenever it comes in or the second one. Either way, they can either have my business or not. But I won't put a deposit down and I plan to look elsewhere while I wait. When "my" car shows up somewhere, I'm buying it. That simple.

I'm going to talk to my dealer tomorrow. My deposit was $500. If I can have my deposit back, I'll strngly consider having a different car shipped from PA or something else to NH.

Only downside, I will most likely not keep invoice.

Biggest downside of cancelling I'd imagine and taking stock is that they can charge you more for stock because of the whole "these cars are SO hot right now". By doing retail order you bypass allocation and get a better price, if I'm not mistaken...?

Not canceling... Not gonna settle for something 'close' to what I want so I can get it 3-4 weeks sooner (at this point). Of course that assumes I get the dang thing by the 4th of July...

Retail is basically just extra cash, or so I'd think. Depends on the dealer.

Ending my 8th week of waiting here, my car got shipped offsite and was just returned today, but I'd still only consider going dealer stock if I could find exactly what I wanted. Based on what they're ordering around here, I'm pretty sure that's going to be like a needle in a haystack. But then again, I can wait, no issue there for me, so it's more a question of need, but for me? I'll just wait. It'll get here eventually.

I came really close yesterday to settling for a GB prem Gt instead of my GB Gt/Cs but then I decided to just wait for my order. However, now i'm contracted in, so if my car's not here by July 9, I have to make a payment with no car.

When you step back from the emotions of wanting the car now, it just doesn't make sense to cancel. Why give up a car that you configured exactly to your specifications for one that is close, just to have it a little (but right now it feels like a lot) sooner?

Considering it pretty seriously. It's been three months since I ordered, and two months since the car was built. No status update since April 23rd; how long am I supposed to wait, given that there are GT's all over the place now?

I agree... what's the difference between 1 month, 3 months or 5 months? In 7 years from now the car will still be about 7 years old and you won't even remember that you waited for the car.

I simply can not believe some of the attitudes in this thread. Ford is doing the best they can to get these cars out the door and have had a few issues.

Ever had problems at your work? Yeah I thought so.

When you operate on a scale like this small problems become big ones in 2 seconds and it takes DAYS/weeks to fix and thats after you know whats the best fix is!!!!!

In todays modern age of social media etc you cant tell the public every little problem that the car has or you will be labeled as crap car maker in 36 hours.

NO WHERE did you sign a contract with Ford Motor Company with a promised delievery date on it.

Does it suck that the cars have been very delayed? yes.

Is the wait unacceptable? far from it.

Some reasonable people will wait months-years for their cars to make it to them and they have MSRP's that range from 50K-1m+

Hey Stinger, your not even in the party. As per your posting, " My friends got my car pulled ahead" Well if any of us could have had our cars pulled ahead like yours, i guess our thinking would be a little bit different, wouldnt it? Dont jump on us, we have been waiting for ours cars, unlike you! 8 days from build to delivery! Wow, must be nice, ive waited, you havent! So keep your soap box to yourself! Ronn
