GT500 brakes are unchanged 2007 - 2011. Track Pack did not have the front 4 piston Brembos and 14" rotors that all GT500's have. It may have had the rear pads but that's it. 2011 is the 1st time you can option your GT to have the Shelby brakes.

I've been wondering about the axle ratios myself, and I'm still trying to figure the physics out in my head. Never really run the calculations out myself.

Pads on the track pack were unique higher performance compound. The rotors on the to were the same 12.8" foun on all stock gts. The 2011 gts have standard 13.0" rotors. Don't think the pads are anything special.

thats nothing..

if you live in Brazil.. if you purchase a new car that is not made there,

you pay 300% tax.. yes 300%, the cost of the car x 3

Someone want to send that up to the executive and legislative branch?

Thanks. I new the Track Pack didnt have Brembos.

2010 Track Pack = 12.4" Dual Piston

2011 GT = 13.2" Dual Piston

For some reason I had in my head the 2011 GT got the 13.2" brakes from the Track Pack.
Guess the bigger brakes are brand new.

Nope. The 2011 GT has new calipers and 13.2" rotors. So they are bigger than the 2010 Track Pack brakes, which were standard GT with different pads (same as the new 2011 V6 Performance Pack brakes now). Yeah, it's confusing.

But it sounds like you're only concerned with the car's performance at the strip, so it seems you have it all figured out! Yeah, I forget the transmission's gearing is so different than before. The 3.73s do seem like overkill now, and would necessitate a shift into 5th down the 1/4. If I were ordering, I would still go for them though. I'm not that experienced in driving stick, and a new car would be a dd for me. When I drove a 2009 with the 3.31s and a 2010 with the 3.73s, the 2010 was much easier to drive for me, due to the revs being kept up. It seems like the 2011 with 3.55s would drive similar to the 2010 with 3.73s. Eh, neither here nor there. I'm sure you will enjoy your car and we look forward to you taking delivery!

Edit: wow you guys are fast today haha!!

Yep a lower low and a higher high than my current car. I dont really I want to maximize strip performance at the cost of street performance.
With this trans their is really very little compromiose involved. For pure street performance I would likely have simply kept the standard 3.31.

Ive had 4.10 in my current car and its to low (for me) on real street tires both on the street and track. I put the 3.55 back.
3.73 with the new car would put me back in 4.10 territory with a lot more torque to deal with as well.
I agree 3.73 is very nice in a stock 2010.

Whewww!!! I think Ive stolen my own thread....

Rebate has been Smart Vincent confirmed on my 2011 Mustang using the Customer ID Code (On Rebate coupion) and the VIN of my Mustang.

Program Number is #3342. Call your dealer and give hime the program number and customer ID code on the coupon and have hime run it with your VIN. Then you will know if your Rebate Coupon will work. If not order a 2010 Mustang Brochure (2011 are running behind due to demand) under another name in your household or if you live alone your middle name (Ford only sends one Rebate Coupon to customer and its only transferable within the household). Chose 0-30 days for buying time. Evidently you got a coupon just before the change over. Mine is good from 4/20-6/19.
Hmm. I ordered my Brochure yesterday but my car should be in Saturday. Is there no way of applying this discount before the brochure gets here?

Isn't that for off-lease buyers?

Not that I know. You are supposed to have the Customer ID Code (On the Brochure) and your Address is supposed to match (Transferable within household only).

That said have the dealer run the Smart Vincent and hand you the print out. Their may be something else on their that will work for you. Their are Private Offers for various occupations and clubs.

Thanks to the 38 long years my Dad put in at Ford, I get A-Plan pricing. So, I always get a killer deal. But what really kicked @$$ about my deal is that I got $1500 bonus cash because my lease is up on my Focus, plus another $500 that most people are getting. So I got A-Plan price minus $2000.

2011 GT Premium
401A
Manual
3.73 Gears
Glass Roof
Comfort Group
Security Package
HID lights
Retail: $37995
My deal after rebates: $32063
Thanks, Dad!

Assuming you are not Plan eligible or eligible for one of the special rebates like End of Lease I think the following is about as good as you can do right now.

0-$500 Below invoice with Holdback and FDAF ($486).
$500 Bonus Cash + $750 Private Money (Brochure Rebate)

That amounts to $27,000-27,500 for a GT Base.
