GT500 Replica on eBay

Is it any different than what Shelby America does now? Minus the name of course.
Take some other people's parts off your shelves, slap them on a car with a lot of badges, and then sell it for more than its worth.

I don't remember who it was specifically, but I remember the thread being referenced.
He took it on the chin for the false badging, and rightly so. The fact is, people do that kind of thing for one of two reasons: they like the way it looks and don't have the money to buy the actual real deal (hey, I'm going that route eventually when I build my Factory 5 Cobra REPLICA), or they want the recognition of having a car they don't actually have. Nine times out of ten, people are going to assume the latter, whether it's true or not. Nothing wrong with having the car look the way you want it to, but you better be willing to put up with whatever grief comes of it.

Everyone on here who's been around cars long enough knows that there are guys who do the same thing with their cars. Some do it with their jobs, some do it with their "wives" (who are actually call girls they hired to hang on their arm), etc.
I just don't understand it. I couldn't do something like that and look at myself in the mirror with anything but disgust. Some people clearly don't have those qualms.

This guy is claiming (by way of badging) his car is GT500R.

If he didn't put the GT500 stickers on it then it'd be acceptable. The price isn't bad for the amount of work that went into it but he'll never get that. It's basically all my favorite mustang mods (stripes, shifter, spoiler, grill).

I asked myself the same question about the Lloyd mats. Why did they stop producing the mats with the extra carpeted dead pedal? It makes no sense.

I didn't realize he was so close to me. Wish I could afford it. I'd buy it and save it by removing the all the fake stuff. His brakes came out really nice (and Danielle, I remember him having the Baer Eradispeed rotors put on after he spun the car and did some rear end damage to it).
If only he had left the side stripes alone and not put the snake in the grille, the car would be great.

Lol I have a Roush center console button because my factory one was destroyed by less than classy women when I was single.

I went through ordering 3 sets of mats to get the ones I kept. I started with the plain Lloyd mats and they wore through on my heel in a week. I picked up the tribar mats and they were thin, small, and cheesy. That left the Shelby signature mats. These are really nice and I assume the same quality as the old mats that have the dead pedal cover that everyone hear speaks so highly off. I like the mats but I agree. It would be nice to have choices.
