On the sticker for the GT I ordered (scheduled to be delivered Nov 5) I noticed that it says "CD/MP3/SAT CAPABL W/ AUD INPUT JACK". Now, I know that the deluxe gt doesn't come with a usb input, but I figured that since it says "cd/mp3/sat capabl" that something like a USB connection could be added aftermarket. Does anyone know about this? I don't wanna rip everything open just to discover there's no actual usb input connection on the back of the head unit to install a cable.

 

I would assume sine it says "CD/MP3/SAT CAPABL W/ AUD INPUT JACK" it has a CD player that is also capable of playing MP3's on a CD disc. It should also have the reciever for satalite radio and an audio input jack. Those capabilities are pretty much standard on almost all cars now. None of that description indicates a USB plug.

 

Well, I was wondering this because I've seen a tutorial for one of ford's trucks where someone opened up and added a USB cable to the back of their head unit. (It only had the audio input jack).

 

Sooner or later an audiophile/electronics guys should be able to come in here and help you out
