GT500- Same as is now but with KR specs.

The GT/Racer upgrade is pretty much a Gt500 with GT facia’s and a detuned 5.4

so how is ford going to pull this off?
the current V6 bases at $19,995 including destination. so for 5 bucks more i'm going to get a 3.5l 24V DOHC engine with 40 more HP and 20 more ftlbs of torque.
Don't get me wrong I'm all in for this, but it doesn't seem realistic to me.
If they pulled this off, the V6 mustang would steal a lot of business from foreign competition.

Well if you think how many vehicles the 3.5 is going to be in and how much the current 4 L is used. It could be cheaper to make the 3.5 then the 4.0. Just becuase it puts out more hp doesn't mean its more expensive to build.
Yes, the 3.5 V6 is supposed to be in a lot more Ford models, but I'm still not sure if Ford is going to offer it in the Mustang?
As far as you orginal question, maybe you can do a cost benefit analysis sort of thing. Compare HP per $$$ or something. It might just come down to how much HP can you afford?

No way. Let's see a show of hands of those that would trust their service department to do the upgrades? ... ... ... That's what I thought!
Oh, and why not upgrade to a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters on the carbon fiber steering wheel?
wouldnt that make the price go up quiet a bit?
quad valve engines are much more expensive to produce then standard bi-valve engines. My company builds engine assembly lines and bi-valve equipment is much less expensive, takes up much less room, and requires fewer people to opporate it. Not to mention that quad-valve engines double nearly every part quantity north of the pistons.
Agreed there will be a volume benifit to this. But we all know Ford is going to charge more for more horsepower.
