Angry Gas guage issues.

Shortly after I got my car it would go from 1/2 to 1/4 within a few miles and I would get the "50 miles to empty" on the cluster. It would only take 7 or so gallons to fill.

I took it to the dealer, they found a TSB about a batch of faulty fuel pumps (would only draw from one side of the saddle tank), and they replaced mine. It's been great for 8,000+ miles. Now it gets between 1/2 and 1/4 and goes straight to below E on the guage and "0 miles remaining". I get about 170-200 miles from the fill up before it does it.

Car has been at the dealers all day and so far the pump and senders "appear" OK and it's now in the hands of Ford Technical Services so who knows when I'll get it back.

Anyone else been getting or had this issue??
Thanks.

I have not experienced this issue myself, but the online car enthusiast site Edmund's has a long time 2011 Mustang GT, which experienced a similar issue back in January. Here's a link to their post on the issue: http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtest...az-part-2.html

Their posts about the Mustang and their experences with the car are a good read.

Just got the word back from the dealer. Because I have already had the fuel pump and level sensors etc replaced per the TSB Ford Tech have said to replace the WHOLE instrument cluster. This will be here in 3-4 days. Unfortunatly I leave for work in 2 and won't know if this will be a fix until I get back at months end.

I had the same issue on my '11 Kona 5.0 just this last week. It would get down just past 1/2 a tank and suddenly the gauge would tell me I have '4 miles to empty'. The first time it happened I filled the tank and it took 8 gals of gas. I was then getting an error 'check fuel fill inlet'. Last Friday the car did the '4 miles to empty' and so I called the dealer and made an appt to have it checked. That afternoon the car stranded me on the side of the freeway. I had to call roadside assistance and they brought out 2 gals of gas. It started and I went directly to the gas station. It took 8.9 gals. That plus the 2 gals means it had ~5 gals in the tank when it died on me! Needless to say I was not a happy camper!

I dropped it at the dealer on Monday and they ended up replacing the fuel pump. Hopefully that resolves it.

Maybe this is a Kona Blue Mustang issue? jk
But my 2011 Mustang had this issue on the first tank of gas when brand new. After the second tank had the same behavior, they replaced fuel pump module part # BR3Z*9H307*B Sender and Pump Assembly.

I hope the issue is gone,

I wonder how many of these parts are made in China or have components made in China. So much defective trash coming out of that place...**** it.
