Question Gas Cap Options?

2012 Mustang here. I'm concerned about dirt building up inside the fuel door area and getting pushed in when I go to pump gas. Wondering what your experiences with that are and what options are out there for a fuel cap. Is there a cap that I can attach with a cord to the car or would they all be loose? Thanks in advance!

uhmmm. unless you go off-roading I don't think this should be a problem. you have the gasket there and you can always wipe off excess grime without worrying about it getting in the inlet.

Thanks. I'm still waiting for my order to arrive. Stopped by the dealer on the way home from work and it does looks pretty safe after all. Noticed a rubber seal when the gas door closes and some sort of drainage on the interior at the bottom that seems to drain through the inside of the outer panel. It also seems like it'd be pretty hard to push the tank seal open without some sort of adapter. I think I'll just wipe it from time to time with a cloth. Does the plastic adapter for fueling come in the trunk?

Yeppers! Right next to the spare(or where it would be if you have the BBP).

Thanks, I'm actually still trying to figure out what spare is right for the car. I'm getting the 17" tires.
