Front running tires with slicks.
My car has big brakes so I have used M&H Racemaster 185/55R17's on Race Star 17 x 4.5 wheels. At the time these 26" radials where all that was available. Since then M&H has come out with a 28" radial.
Frankly for street use I was not comfortable with a 4.5" rim and moved to 17 x 7" Race Stars this spring. The difference in weight between the 4.5 and 7 is 4 pounds per wheel. I am currently using BFG Advantage T/A 215/60R17's

Rears are 15 x 10 with MT 325/50/15 drag radials.

Fronts are a 14" Baer 6P. Do not see them currently on the Baer site, but here they are from AM:

No fitment issues with either the 17 x 4.5 or 17 x 7 Race Star wheels.
