I've used them before and they have almost every color.
Gonna have to check them out. The dealership had already mounted the front plate bracket before I picked it up. Since Tx is a 2-tag state, I might get pulled over once in a while, but not likely. Even if I do, it's nice to carry my badge in my wallet when getting my license for the officer

He'd have to first see the car from the back and front and then ID the plate as being from his state, all in the 2 seconds he to look as it's passing. I've even been pulled over in Texas and never had them look up front.

I'm just glad I live in a state with no front plate requirement now.
I was working in the Dallas/Irving area for about a year. I was driving a 2005 F150 at the time, and installed just the rear Texas tag, as I had removed the front mount when the truck was in Florida (not required in Florida to have a front plate). I talked to a Dallas policeman one weekend and asked about the front plate. He informed me that Texas law did indeed require a front plate, but that most officers "looked the other way" if a car did not have one. His opinion stated that they too felt it did not compliment the style of newer cars, and therefore did not push the law.
In the two years I was there, I never got stopped for having just the rear plate.

True, most don't bother with it. Unless they're bored and wanna go "fishing" for somethig. It's good PC to make a stop and make contact with the driver..try to find some dope, etc.

Yea i knw plenty guys with Evo's, Vettes, and Stangs with no front plate. Theyve had more issues with speeding compared to not having a front plate. Most officers dont bother with that. State troopers on the other hand....

Good luck bro. Sometimes you'll be bored to death, then other times you'll have calls backed up for days it seems like. No matter what, YOU go home at the end of the shift. It's up to the perp if he wants to go home, jail, or the morgue. When the fecal matter hits the oscillator, it's better to be judged by 12 than carred by 6. I've already been to 2 buddies funerals and one of our county deputies.

Before you start the academy, read as much as you can on the Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Arrest..Search..and Siezure. Traffic code and health & safety wouldn't hurt either. At least that way you'll have a better idea of what's being taught instead of everything being brand new to you. PM me if you have any ?'s.

And you wonder why so many people dislike and don't trust cops...

"Oh, you're a fellow officer? Well then, it's okay if you and me flaunt the law, but those pesky civilians can suck it."

I respect the hell outa LEO's for the nasty/dangerous job they have to do, but I'm also a firm believer in equal treatment.

Whenever I order a car, I ask the customer if they want the bracket, as while its free from the factory, its about $20 out of the parts department last time I checked. I NEVER NEVER NEVER put them on, unless someone requests it. If they want it, I'll install it myself.

Good on ya! My dealer is of the same mind. When I picked up my 10GT, my salesman asked 3 times if I was sure. Then he brought me out to the guys in the garage assigned to do the deed. They suggested I don't do it, but offered no alternative solution, so naive me just wanted to be legal, unaware of alternatives. I was present for the work and was asked to approve each step of the process.

The '13GT500 will be different, starting with as-off-truck inspection and moving forward. It just needs to finish getting here, dammit.

There's nothing wrong with a little professional courtesy. We put our lives on the line every time we put the uniform on. I won't write another officer a ticket, nor will I write old people tickets. That was instructed to us in our academy, and I agree with it. I have only been pulled over 3? times in the last 10 years. If I stop someone, they're getting a warning unless they talk themself into a ticket or have just done something stupid/dangerous.

Usually the only people that don't like or distrust police are the ones that have reasons to not like them, usually because they are involved in some sort of criminal activity or who knows what. If you're a decent, law abiding citizen of society, there's no reason to fear them. Sure, sometimes a ticket has to be written now and then, the city council wants to see revenue to pay for the department, and to show that the officers aren't just hanging out BS'ing the whole shift and doing pro-active work. Yea it's understood that there is a quota to be met, but not in writing. No added revenue for the city, the Chief is in the hot seat, and it rolls downhill. Ok, end of rant lol.

Plateless update: After almost six months of driving my GT without a front plate I have been pulled over twice. Once by my local OPP and once by the Delaware Ont. OPP. Both officers were female ,young ,pretty, and very pleasant and both gave me a "soft"warning .I am still trying to get a suitable bracket or mounting location for the plate. The Roush front spoiler made my stowaway bracket unuseable. I am waiting for the new Roush lower grille and perhaps mount the plate some where on it. I don't mind the warnings ,but one of these days they may have teeth in them and I don't want any tickets.

Just wait until you start getting the same tickets put on your windshield while your parked. Been there as well. You can beat those though. Lol

I used to simply keep the bracket under my passenger seat of my 00 S281. I'd slip it out after I got pulled over and explained that "I just got it in the mail that day." It worked for the cars whole life and many stops. Once she's running again, I'm not sure ill push my luck again though.

Hopefully this warning was in reference to not having a front plate installed. :-P
