Ford performance Hood struts-UGH
So last month I got the kit so I didn't have to use the hood rod. When I installed the base plates they did not stay square and turned sideways, to be honest the bolts look like they were made from soft metal. So after work today I got thread lock and was going to tighten down and let sit for 24 hours before reinstalling the struts. Passenger size went well then while torquing down drivers side snap! I can't find my screw extractor kit so have to buy a new one. Any recommendations for replacement bolt. I thought I read in another thread those bolts are not great quality the threads in fender seemed good.
Thanks

That must have been one weak **** bolt, or you used a ratchet with a 3ft handle lol.
Will the bolt that came out of it not work, or is it too short?

Yikes! I think this is why the Roush struts are preferred as they seem to have a more secure mounting bracket with multiple screws. (2015+) or a bracket that prevents the plate from rotating (up to '14).
