We should destroy this thing and suppress all information! Only an elite few with intellect should have access to such information!

Such elite people should obviously include me. I will lead you all to a new age, where we cure cancer, where traffic does not exist, and where Mustangs always arrive on their ETA.

I understand your frustration. I can't even imagine how hot I would be if all around me Mustangs are showing up at dealerships, while mine sits in a lot....

With that said, instead of being sarcastic to Five Oh Brian, maybe you should realize that us "normal" people have the information we have BECAUSE of people like Five Oh Brian....

This board is a resource like no other when it comes to Mustangs and their release, and most of that is due to the people that post here with the information.

I think your frustration is misplaced. Its ok to be frustrated with Ford, I just wouldn't be blaming Five Oh Brian for whats happening with your car....

Just my .02, have a nice day

Summer is short for many of us...
I am very close on cancelling my retail GT500 order from my dealer, and picking up another one of the shelve.

It's a shame that our retail orders does not get much priority for Ford. I will not buy a 60k summer car that I can only use for 2 months this year and than put aside for the winter. I wanna get 5+ months of use this year!

I'm glad we have dealers and Ford people who post on this board and give us information. Let's not try and shoot the messenger, eh?

Most dealers does a nice job (especially those on this board ) but Ford does not back them enough IMO. Keeping peoples in the dark is not good with todays resource we all have. We are "unfortunately" not in 1980s anymore... my2cents.

I'm not blaming Brian. Or Paul. Or Jeff. They are good guys with good info. It was his smarta$$ response that warranted my response. I took no particular offense to it. I just felt like it didn't offer any new information and back-handedly said, STFU.

I'm not even THAT frustrated with Ford. I AM, however, totally p!ssed off at my dealer and feel like I'm trapped doing business with them because I ordered the car through them clueless of their ineptitude. If I COULD get my $500 deposit back (easily), I would take my business elsewhere and wait even longer. Yes, I want my car. But this experience is souring me on Ford the company and especially Ford dealers but not the product. I think it's an amazing product. If I would have come here BEFORE I bought, my order would have been placed with Jeff, Brian, or Paul and I'm confident I wouldn't have had to pull every iota of information I've gotten from them.

Here's a penny... you deserve some change.

Like you, mine is long over do. I am lucky with my dealer. I have traded there for over 25 years and the same salesman for about 20 years. I emailed him this morning and got a reply in 7 minutes! He said all there orders have been running slow, he was referring to the shipping not the building of vehicles. He treats me well and appreciates my business.
Sorry about your problems. There are good dealers out there. I will pay extra for that.
My latest eta is Sunday.

Thanks for posting your take, unfortunately, I didn't read it that way at all. I just re-read page 3 in its entirety and still didn't catch that. When proclaiming him the "oracle" of Ford (which I took as a sarcastic comment), he responded calmly and directly. I really didn't see any backhanded STFU from him....

Well, my peace keeping duties are done for the day . Thanks again for clarifying your position, and good luck with your new Mustang (when you get it)!!! I wish I was replacing mine with a 2011 .

Thanks for the change, it always comes in handy .

Ya exactly. If UPS you can track a 1/4 pound package from Iowa to Bangkok within minutes of every step along the way, you'd think Ford would be able to work with a rail company that can keep track of a thousand ton train traveling a few states across county.

Go in and ask them for it back saying you found the same car somewhere else. I did that when I ordered my 2005 from one dealer but because of the wait and the lack of communication I purchased one another dealer had. My original dealer just cut me a check.

I'm not saying this is going to be your exact experience but all they can say is no...

Deposits are fairly arbitrary. That's pretty rare though that they didn't ask for one, usually they ask for a few hundred at least. With mine it was $1000, I wouldn't go much higher than that, $500 should be enough really, but I went along with it, as everything else had gone well (plus they gave me priority 10). I've heard horror stories of much, much higher deposits though, and those are just crazy.

That was my misconception as well...This is my first ever 'new' new car, and having once worked for UPS, I naturally thought that FoMoCo had up-to-date tracking or something similar...

But I've accepted now the only thing I can do at present is wait
