Fog Light Tint

Fog Light Tint
I was wondering how much less usable light you get out of your standard grille fog lights when tinted? Can anyone shine some light on that issue? (literally)
I use my fog lights on a daily basis, mostly for driving lights and increased visibility at night... don't want to really ruin that.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

They are hardly driving lights. Too much fluting in the relector. I converted mine to Hella's triggered by a relay when I hit the high beams..
I'd suggest tinting so you **** fewer people off (like me) if you insist on running them all the time.....

Every since I owned my 90 LX Coupe, not much I've liked better than a Mustang w/it's parking & fogs on! Loved more in my 95, now blown away in my 11!! Every time I drive mine, I turn on both. I wanted to put on tint on my light/reflectors. Just don't have funds yet. Those shine better than I thought would. I was looking @ StangMods tint, pretty sure.

Ironically, in Canada they ARE the driving lights. Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are standard on all new Canadian car, so the fogs are always on (except at night when the headlights/HID's come on and the fogs go off).

Chad:
Do you have a daytime picture of your tinted fog lights? What shade of tint did you use? I know they offer smoke and black out, which I believe translates to a 35% and 20% tint...

That looks sweet!!! As I have everything black, I think I'm sold on the idea of tinting my fogs as well and then install a dark pony emblem.
Did you do the tint install yourself? Was it pretty easy? Never done anything like it before.

I have a 50% tint... which is relatively light.
It cuts down on a good amount of light penetration. I like using my fogs, and use them often- so I decided not to go any lower.
Got mine here:

How dark it appears depends on the direct level of light. It definitely tone downs on the white housing. And for that I am please.
