I'm not a race guy but it did seem either the Camaro and the Challenger had extremely stiffer suspensions with
very sticky tires compared to the Mustang or they were not trying real hard. Hardly any body sway/pitch in the
Challenger, a little more in the Camaro, but the Mustang's rear end was sliding out. And I don't believe the other
cars are built better.

ya they mentioned in the article that the Ford driver was a ringer, not sure about the Chally and Camaro driver

I like the guy's summary "wow, that was impressive!" or something like that . . . can't wait until they get to do the new full shoot-out test

I think I have one of these in my future . . . can't believe I can have all that fun and match the gas mileage of my Camry at the same time (or at least close)

I can't wait for this car, the Chicago Auto Show starts next week. It's going be awesome to see it in person although I highly doubt that Ford is going to let you sit in one. Never the less this Pony is awesome I know that you GT guys get on us V6 guys about wanting one and beileve me if I had the money both in a car payment and the insurance I would love to get a GT. Right now though the 6 is all I can afford, and I would rather have a Stang then not have one.

Don't let anybody give you crap for that. That V6 is nothing to mess with!

Hell yes. Don't let anyone ever put you down for going for the V6. It's an awesome buy!

Indeed. All the posts I've seen about people saying they know what car they will be renting the next time they are traveling may be rudely disappointed as the speed alert chimes start going off and/or they find out the traction control cannot be disabled. As a final insult, after they have given up and decide to just jam the radio, they'll find it's volume has been limited.

I sincerely hope no one ever does this to their child. It's just cruel. It would be nicer just to get them an old beater Ford Festiva. The one exception being if they are simply borrowing your car, and it's not a car for them.

I can also see MyKey being a source of endless practical jokes between my wife and I.

You're right, you won't be able to sit in a 2011 since they are prototypes. You will be able to sit in the 2010 Mustangs, though, and there's not much difference between the 2010 and 2011, interior-wise.

One question, have the 2011 V6 new big brakes and tuned suspension from 2010?

I wish the dude would shut up for a few seconds so you could you could actually hear the car properly! I don't care about his description of how it sounds, just let me hear it!

If Chicago is anything like the L.A. Auto Show in December, you'll have no problem sitting in a 2011; but, yeah, the interior is identical to the 2010.

In L.A., Ford had two Mustang Club of America editions, an automatic Race Red convertible with the black side stripes, and a manual Ingot Silver coupe without the stripes. Both had black leather interior.

As time goes on and the more i read about the 2011 V-6, it seems to me the 2011 V-6 is more or less a 2010 G.T. with the new V-6 engine and the new 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. 'If this is true', the V-6 Mustang is going to be an outstanding car.

Talking The verdict is clear

At first when I saw the Mustang sliding in the video, I was alarmed. But MT was'nt. After reading the article, the verdict was clear:

"And barely two turns into our first lap I'm laughing like an idiot. Cullen has the Mustang right on the limit -- and it's brilliant. Cornering is flat, grip is high, and the brakes shear off speed lap after lap. I can't judge such things as steering feel or throttle responsiveness, of course, but Cullen is hanging out the tail with seeming ease, and we're rocketing over sharp whoop-dee-doos without the Mustang falling onto its bump stops or bouncing into the weeds. In fact, the suspension shrugs off such indecencies without complaint or misstep. This thing is locked-down and loaded."

Ford's driver was pushing this thing to the limit. This car is going to be one hellava buy!

All the pre-production V-6 Mustangs seem to have the chrome grille like in the video. I don't like it. I'm sure the production models will have the honeycomb grille as their standard equipment grille. I like the honeycomb grille.

I must have watched this video over 20 times LOL!!!

All the pre-poduction V6 models I've seen (Red Conv. & Silver Coupe with side stripe & silver coupe w/o side stripes) are MCA editions ... all had the MCA only wheels, blacked out tail panel, and this grill.

I'm hoping that is the "Chrome" GT/CS Grill rather than the "Dark Stainless" grill the MCA is supposed to have ... sheen of both the GT/CS & MCA show car grills look the same to me so if the real MCA grill is darker all the better.

Does anyone know if the V6 has the same spark management system as the 5.0? IOW, will the horsepower increase with higher octane fuel?

That hasn't been mentioned but I would put money that FRPP will have a kit similar to the 2010 Powerpak upgrade and it will add 10hp and the same amount of torque. I think with some bolt ons the 3.7L V6 can gain an easy 15-20hp.

I have to think it does and might explain some of the early rumors about 315 HP. If the V6 repsonds like the V8, I'm guessing 315 HP/290 TQ on 91 octane. 305/280 is based on 87 octane.

Agreed. They probably don't want to rate the V6 at 315 because it will be the same as 2010 GTs on the same lot. I would bet they up the rating for 2012...and rate it on 91, like the 412hp GT is rated.
