thanks so much for posting that! I was getting impatient and thinking about going ahead with a V6 Camaro, now I know I MUST WAIT FOR NEW V6 MUSTANG!
I think that was the new California Special grill on that car? not sure I like it . . . I think I like the old honeycomb style better . . .
Also I think they mentioned that the test car has the V6 Performance Package (not available to the public until Summer) so I think that means it had the 3.31 rear end . . . though I don't see the shock tower brace in the photos, so I'm not sure

Actually that wasn't the performance one, that one will be even better!

Oh boy...I can't wait to get beat up on,by a '11 V6 Mustang, while cruising around in my "old" 2001 Bullitt! How quickly things are changing, finally, at Ford. Remember when you had to pray for an extra 5 HP,in the next year's Mustang!

That's the Mustang Club of America package for the 2011 V6 which is available in addition to the Pony package. Both the MCA and CS share that same style grill. I watched the NAIA show on NBC yesterday afternoon and saw a car with the usual pony package grill so I'm guessing the mesh grill is still available and probably the norm. I didn't like the billet grill at first but it grew on me after looking at a few 1970 Mustangs. I just wish the lights were further in like those models.

(Red MCA, Silver MCA, & Red GT/CS)
... they all look to have the same shiny appearance. I'm hoping the show cars all have the CS style and the real MCA grill will actually be "darker" to match the wheels.
However what I'd really like to see is this grill in plain BLACK PLASTIC ... this would give it a true "1970" look.

The MCA Grill is supposed to be a "Dark Stainless" color where the CS is "Chrome" (per order guide). But looking at all the show car grills side-by-side ...

Personally I don't really care for the billet look ... especially when it is a poser "plastic" grill plated or painted to look like "billet".
I'd prefer the darker grill on both models, but we'll have to wait and see what Ford really does on the production cars as they've made changes in the past, even AFTER brochures were printed. One example is 1998 the "V6 Sports Appearance package" ... shown in the brochure with 16" '91-93 5.0L Star type wheels (never previously made in 5-lug), however the production models ended up with the std. 16" '94-98 5-spoke wheels.

Might be? Somehow, Ford just keeps on making these cars better and better. There's no doubt the 2011 GT will be the greatest standard Mustang GT ever, and I'll say right now that the V6 will be the greatest base model Mustang ever.
That video rocks! From the smoky two-tire burnout to practically drifting around that track, that was impressive! That car probably beats the '99-'04 GT around a road course and is not far behind the '05-'10 GT.

Man that thing is a beast!!! Good job Ford! I wonder if the 11's will move up a price range or two on the rental market. I would think they would have to to keep everyone from destroying them.

This V6 Mustang will be no joke. I am as impressed with it for the money as I am anything out there. This would make a great daily driver. Ford brought their "A" game this time. I am so impressed with the company overall with what they are doing. The Fiesta, New Focus, Fusion, SHO Taurus, New engines for the F150(finally), and the super duty will get the 6.2 Boss. Ford is on a roll.
Ecoboost is coming for a bunch of stuff. They are kicking Gm and Toyotas *** and making them like it. Ford went back to work and didnt rely on their reputation or lack there of or current loyal buyers. They are after much more and I dont really care if they never get big or a large part of the market. I want them to make money so they will be around a lot longer.
I give Ford and Alan Mulaly a huge thumbs up for the V6 Stang. Finally a Mustang that V8 buyers will consider. I have gone off in the past for the Mustang being down on power but no more. Part of it is that I am getting older. Still, thank you Ford for stepping up. It matters. I would kill for a 5.0 Gt. Nice work Ford Motor Company.

I would actually consider one of these. No joke. I can understand why Ford would not want to release a twin turbo version of this car right away, if ever. (SVO II ) But rest assured, there will be legions of 'Stangers willing and able to pick up where Ford left off. Can't wait to see how it responds to mods.

After watching the video, I got the impression that the driver of the Camaro and Challenger was different from the driver of the Mustang. I thought that Motortrend brought the Camaro and Challenger and supplied their test driver for those cars, but the driver of the Mustang worked for Ford. That might explain why the Mustang looked to be a lot looser on track. Motortrend wouldn't push the Camaro and Challenger that the manufacturers gave them to 10/10 on the track, but the guy working for Ford would push the Mustang harder. Maybe I got the wrong impression though?
