Congratulations. I told my dealer NOT to drill holes in the front bumper as I had planned another way of mounting the Washington required front plate. There will still be the little dimples that are molded into the bumper, but they are hardly noticeable. This was my solution, but there are other ways to avoid that ugly black blob on the bumper.

I hope you steam clean every nook and cranny in that thing because road salt goes EVERYWHERE! Our Shelby came in April 17th last year. It stayed at the dealership until May 17th....when all the salt was off the roads. Congrats on your new ride! Enjoy!

That will help towards the GT500's I want to put on.
you should be fine. Just go easy on accelerating. Especially on turns

I only started noticing the gear whine after a few thousand miles, so if yours has this symptom, it's likely you wont hear it until summer time.

This should be 3rd mod after hood struts and the mufflers ( I have them too, sound perfect );

I read a thread that new GTs can buy the track key tune from your dealer, so if you were thinking of getting the Boss side pipes as posted earlier, see if you dealer has ever loaded the Track Key tune on a Boss. The sound you get from this 5.0 with that tune (and still keep you warranty!!) coupled with the side pipes is an ear-gasm.

Once the tires warm up and have some heat in them, they'll be just fine, but traction limited if you like floor it from a roll in 2nd gear.

Congrats JC. Welcome to the v8 family Also, what Paul said above is true. 175 for peace of mind? Do it. And yes, say no to the removal of stockers etc... You do it. Don't trust anyone on your car except yourself. And no front plate drilling.

Congrats! Can't wait for pics...

As to the license plate mount, I am very sold on this one. Like the quick on and off....

Congratulations on the new ride. Very nice! Just stay off the accelerator on rough roads. You're rear end will hop around a bit if you goose it.

1st Mods - Hood struts, Cooltech sound tube delete, and a new MGW!!

You are gonna love the GT, congrats. Did you think to ask the dealer to make you a spare key or 2 while they have it? The process is a PITA, and if you can get them to be cool and just charge you dealer cost (still over 90$ per key!).

Keep an ear out for the dreaded 3:73 rear axle whine, you notice it right around 68-72 mph in 6th gear when you have your foot on the gas. Hit the clutch and coast and see if the whine goes away if you think you have it.

Also make sure you check the oil level of the engine before you drive off the lot, as well as inspect all 4 rims for any signs of damage from transport. Last thing - check the paint carefully, some cars shipped by train will have 'rail dust' from the rails when the car is shipped by train. Hood, roof, and trunk lid. If it's there, it needs a good clay bar treatment to get it off, so don't let em swirl up your virgin paint with a crappy pre-delivery prep job.

Yes, I have the gear whine, noticed it when I finally took the car out on some country roads and was cruising at 65 to 75....does this hurt anything or is it just an annoyance??
