Fender lip: 2010 vs 2005

Okay, since TampaBear had his little fit and got everything deleted from the other thread, I thought I'd start a new one to discuss the shape/size of the fender lip on the 2010 Mustang.

I challenged TampaBear to a friendly little wager, but never heard back from him. Instead, he carried on until all the posts were deleted.

So how about it, TampaBear? Care to make a little wager on our debate?

I say the 2010 has a larger flat, vertical surface and you already stated that it is identical in size to 2005 body style. Since you're claiming to know with authority, then you wouldn't back away from a friendly little wager, would you? The loser can PayPal the winner once it is proven. Whaddayasay?

Yeah, maybe so.... but I was told to stay on topic and not hijack the other thread, so I created a new one to discuss this one specific styling element. If it gets locked, so be it. I'll still be gloating when I can prove TampaBear wrong once again. LOL

If only there were some kind of handy feature on these message boards to allow members to discuss these personal matters one-on-one. Sort of a "Private Message" function, if you will.

Sure, a private message would work if it were just for him, but others may be interested too. We've talked about the rear end until it got boring already. In my opinion, I think they made a mistake on the fenders too. When I said the car looks Euro and/or Japanese, this was one of the styling elements that made it look that way to me.

I think the wheel arches look much less aggressive without the hard line in them. The more defined body line on the sides looks good, but I wonder why they did away with the hard fender line?

Useless thread on a useless topic.

Use pm's man. Your hatred for the 2010 is beyond logical at this point. Just go to the '05-'09 forums if you hate the 2010 so much. No one is holding a gun to your head to like it

No Steven Actually I Did Reply to Your "Your Such An Angry Little Man" Post. I Said I Am Not Angry I Was Actually Laughing My *** Off that You Had Gotten So Pissed that I Had Posted My Response Discrediting Your Theory.

But You Obviously Missed It Because Someone Deleted Many Good And Valid Posts. WE WERE ON TOPIC, as We Were Discussing the Stance of the Car and How those Same Flat Vertical Wheel Lips Add To The Stance of Both Cars, and the Back End of the Car Includes the Rear 3 1/4 View. That is Where This Discussion Started, as the same Fender Lips are Included in that Rear 3 1/4 View.

Now On to This Thread. I'm Still Not Angry about it. I still find it Quite Funny. As I posted, You had done a Couple of Chops to try to Validate the fact that you thought the Fender Lips on the 2010 are Larger than the 05-09 Mustangs, Because I posted the Pic, of a 2010 in the Foreground and an 09 Bullitt in the Background. I Even Made The Point when I posted that Pic, that due to the Bullitt being in the background, the Fender Lips Looked Smaller but really weren't. You took this as a Challenge.

So You Very Carefully Selected and Pasted the GT Logo on the Red Car's Fender Lip as Proof that it was Larger, followed by a Very Sloppy Chop that You Even went so far as to try to validate Your Point because You Copied and Pasted It In Paint and Couldn't Help if the White Got Into the Wheel Wells. Again, Nice Try. Here's your 2 Chops.

In Response, I said that If you had taken the time and care to cut and paste the GT on the White car that You used on the 2010 and Not Done it So Sloppily with the White Pic, and Put the GT Emblem in the Same Position, Top Dead Center of the Wheel Lip, Not Off Center, that it looked like it would possibly fit.

But, as You pointed Out, when I Posted My Chop of an 06 GT from Brad's Archives, that I Just Happened to Pick because it was the First Pic I came Across, the Angle was reversed, and the GT Emblem Was Not Closer to the Camera as In Your Pic's. As You Said, Angle Has A Lot To Do With The Size of the GT Emblem and You Accused me of Picking that Pic Specifically for that Reason. I Still Question Your Choice of Using a White car as the Lines on a White Car tend to Dissapear and Are Obviously Harder to See, I did Not Say I Couldn't See Them. I Question as well, the More Extreme Angle of the White Car Making the GT Emblem Larger than the Red 2010 You Used. Here is My Chop on the 06. It Obviously Fits.

After you questioned my choice of pic and accused me of using an opposite angle to make the GT Emblem Smaller so it would fit on the Fender Lip, just to Try to Prove My Point, I decided the only true way to see if the GT Emblem Would actually fit on the Wheel Lip of Both Cars without Angle Being Played as an issue, I had to Find A Shot of an 09 and a 2010 Dead On From The Side, and Chop the GT Emblem's, Which I Did, and I Posted These Shots that Clearly Show the Wheel Lips are So, Nearly The Same Size, that Since NEITHER of Us Has Actually Seen the 2010 in person, or Measured Them, that We Were Both Estimating. It Looks as If They are The Same Size Judging Purely By Sight, and I Even Said that If there is a Difference It Could Only Be Millimeters.

As for Your Wager Steven, Grow Up. I said it Before, It's Really Not That important To Me. I Think It's Funny As Hell that You are the one Who Got So Angry and Will Go To Any Length to Try To Discredit Anyone's Point, that Challenges Yours to try to make it More Valid. So Much so that You Couldn't Let It Go.

Everyone Knows You Hate the 2010 as Much as I Love It, If I'm Wrong So What? If I'm Right Who Cares? So I'm Not Going to Continue to Play Your Childish Game of "Mine Is Bigger Than Yours." I posted this simply to re post my reply. I am Going to act like the grown man I am, and Agree To Disagree With You, as we seem to do In almost every aspect. I Am Finished With This Discussion.

BTW, I Love The Rear End, and Every Other Part of the 2010!

My inside source told me that the lip on the 10 was .0002 millimeters smaller than the 05-09.

That's less than a quarter of a micron. 0.2um would not be discernible to the eye. It's safe to assume that Ford's machining, stamping and assembly variance / tolerancing is way, way more than that.

That's completely wrong. It is clear from the pics the difference is closer to .0001999 mm.
