Why should all the ricers have all the fun with a bunch a cheap, fake ornamentation and baubles glued and pop-riveted all over their cars. Why can't American cars be just as shallow and foppish? Mustang owner's should have the right to get in touch with their inner King Cobra.

Having spent some formative years in the King Cobra Malaise era of Potemkin performance cars, now you know the root of my cringing aversion to fake performance anything on a car.

Maybe therapy will allow me to know and love such pseudo-performance hood jewelry.

Having survived the same era, I can empathize. Believe it or not, in '78 I actually bought a '76 "Cobra" II. Didn't last long...
