Exhaust Discussion
I'm leaning toward magnaflow competition catback or bassani catback. Can anyone chime in on the sound if you have them. I'm looking for something decently loud but not a nightmare inside the car . I hate how every video I watch on the 5.0 sounds like a raspy mess. I'm looking for a muscular , deep , collected tone. I should add that I'm probably going to be adding a set of longtubes And an off road h or x pipe. Let the debate begin

I have the GT500's on my '11 and am very pleased. I have had louder (deletes on an '07 GT, 8" Cherry Bombs on a '66 V8) and have grown tired of not being able to play a bit without attracting the attention of every car with lights on top. They have a nice rumble, quieter than most, but I do wonder what they would be like with out the little resonators Ford has under the car. For my daily driver, I have no need to go with much more in mods to the exhaust.

I have maganaflow catback competition exhaust and have a terrible droan between 70mph and 80 mph. Actually when the RPM's are at 2,000 or less. it is really annoying, can't, hear the radio, hurts my ears. But, the start-up is awesome, all other conditions are really good, more than one person told me it souds like a "beast". It I could correct the drone, it would be awesome. Me last GT, I had Flowmaster and the only time I had drone was at between 60MPH and 70 MPH.

I have magnaflow competition catback exhaust and have a terrible drone between 70MPH and 80 MPH, actually at any time I am at or below 2,000 RPM's. If I correct this it would be great as people have said the car sounds like a "beast". My 05 GT had flowmaster and I had a drone between 60MPH and 70MPH only.

Don't go with anything magnaflow unless you like a very raspy sound and drone! But if you like those things them get magnaflow....personally I took off the magnaflow catback after one day because I couldnt stand the tinnny raspy sound!!

Oh and now I have the borla s type catback and I love it!! No drone at any rpm and not to loud if you don't want it to be....but it is the most expensive it cost me $1400 here in Canada....

I have the GT500s, picked them up for $280 for the pair.
I'll let you know how they sound ... in 2 or 3 months when I get the car. LOL
Seriously, though, I got them because they sounded the best out of all the clips I heard.

Im hearing so many positive reviews on the gt500 mufflers. And I just sold those mufflers off my dads 2011 gt500 and now im thinking I really shouldn't have. Would have been worth a shot on my car before selling them.
Daddy666-everything you just said is everything I feared about the magnaflows. Im really starting to lean towards Basanis more but I need to hear from someone who has them

I would highly disagree about the sound. Raspy? No where near as raspy and poppy as the borla systems. The magnaflow comp series is deep and gargles like a beast.

Not exactly sure how u can admit that the comp system is deep deep but tinny n super raspy. I have them, n whatever drone there was went mostly away with lt n x pipe. Really the only issue I had with the magnas was fitment n there crappy customer service. If ur gonna lower your car do not get the magna flow. It will hit the axle on big bumps which is sh*tty n poorly designed. There 3 inch exhaust for the gt500s never hit n had plenty of room. I was one of the first ones to get the kit. They admitted they had an issue n gave me a new "redesigned" kit in July. That one fit the same and had to be heavily modified to fit right. Then they tried telling me there was never an issue. Sound great but I really believe the bottom line is they rushed it. They could have put a little more time into utilizing the room under there. If your car is gonna b lowered be prepared to deal with this. You would never know though unless u get under the car an inspect because you can't hear it hit when ur driving. I am curious about the other catbacks that r three inch n how much room there is above the rear axle on lowered vehicles if anyone has any info.
