i kinda like the idea of an SVO Mustang. im curious though, i mean the person who snapped the shots. wouldnt you think they'd listen to the exhaust note and put that in their report too?

Guys, calm down. Before this whole thing gets out of control, it's not an Ecoboost. Inside Line needs to get their head out of their ***.
Also, the "premium fuel only" sticker doesn't mean it's a turbo. See Boss pdf, which recommends 92 octane:

Don't get me all excited for turbos! This does look exactly like the car Steve photoed. Let's go on the assumption THIS car is a Boss mule.
But to open discussion, let's say it's not. It would have been nice if the source had HEARD the car. That would have answered all. Looks are deceiving but sounds are worth a thousand words. A little turbo whine, a high pitched exhaust sound and BAM, V6 turbo. Ok, so I do want to humor this idea. It doesn't make any sense to do. Fuel mileage would equal to or be lesser than the 5.0L so what gives? I don't know but I'd drive the **** out of one!

I just pulled up the pics from when I saw the mule a long time ago, and found some very minor differences:
- Black lip spoiler on mule in my pic
- Tri-bar pony decklid badge on pic, GT badge on IL pics
- smaller exhaust on IL pic
- no black vinyl between taillights
- rear bumper changed slightly
Front end and wheels are identical, and I can't comment on the interior. The one glaring question is what the exhaust sounded like, but all indications are that it's a GT/Boss.
Also, looking into it a bit further, the two gauges seen on the pillar could be two of the three gauges from the center pod that the LS has. There is an oil pressure and water temp gauge, along with what appears to be a lap timer. You wouldn't need the lap timer for development, but the other two I can see being something worth paying attention to, but not wanting to give away the final product.

The exhaust doesn't look like any factory type either, notice how far out the tips extend, way more than any set I've seen on one.
Who knows, maybe it is a hopped up all forged 5.0 with big cams to go with the 8K rev limit.

This is nothing more than a test mule with a Boss gauge cluster and premium fuel calibration. The exhaust looks different because the ends are flared to accept test equipment while in the garage. They are looking at this car WAY more than it really is.

they were the same way on the 2005 Mustang GT test mules.

Seriously? Test mules are far from showroom correct. They will often have mis-matched parts and pieces taken from other vehicles. I know everyone is trying to find the smoking gun here by analyzing the photos and looking for anything to fuel a rumor but you are wasting your time. This car is truly nothing special.
