The new DI piston crown geometry is pretty interesting. Notice the offset combustion bowl, a cue borrowed from diesel applications. I wonder, though, since all diesels are being mandated they come equipped with DPF systems, will the DI gasser engines be subject to the same emissions requirements? From what I understand, a GDI gasoline engine emits as much soot as a non-DPF diesel engine.

I guess the 20-30% increase in fuel economy makes up for it, though. Ford can't start offering these engines soon enough!

turbo cars in general do seem to go through more oil then N/A cars. Not to mention factory tune is prob super rich to make it safe from dumb people and prob why it would be black.
