Easy Skip-Shift elimination...
Leaving the connector unplugged will throw a code, specifically DTC P0803.
Installing a 50watt 6ohm resistor across the unplugged connector will provide the same electrical load as the skip shift solenoid and will fake out the computer (no codes)
The resistor is the same used to place a parallel load on LED lights (see picture). They are less than 6 dollars on ebay. I soldered a few thin solid wires to the resistor ends, stuck the wires into the connector and shrink wrapped the whole thing to the end of the wiring harness. The light still illuminates but the lockout no longer interrupts shifts.

Don't know where you got that from, does not throw a code, unnecessary to use any resistor.
You are in the minority on this.
Of course, I'd hate to think we were "waisting" our time discussing it.
I dont know about the code but i do know after having my car for TWO whole days now i don't really like skip shift and Wisconsin roads in winter suck from frost heave !! but skip shift has to go !!
Agreed. Although it's not THAT intrusive, it's just enough to make me want it gone. It seems to pop up most when driving in suburban, stoplight-to-stoplight in traffic (basically scenarios where you cannot drive it like it ought to be driven). Out on back roads by myself it's never an issue.
Tranny
Now that I know the tranny is built in China am rethinking by another Ford product
. I hate buying anything made in China
. I was so looking forward to the 50th anniversary model
. Dam am going to need alot justification to justify a buy

Good luck finding something not made in China lol
It's called "Global Sourcing", in the global economy that is the way it works and will only be more so in the years to come.
China, India, Taiwan, S. Korea, etc...

i wish i had the money to buy a 2011/12 to do this. of course, i'd probably would have gotten a tune and gotten the skip shift disabled any ways.
