The resistor is the same used to place a parallel load on LED lights (see picture). They are less than 6 dollars on ebay. I soldered a few thin solid wires to the resistor ends, stuck the wires into the connector and shrink wrapped the whole thing to the end of the wiring harness. The light still illuminates but the lockout no longer interrupts shifts.

Don't know where you got that from, does not throw a code, unnecessary to use any resistor.

You are in the minority on this.

You're right - that is the GM code for the skip shift solenoid circuit. It's also the code for a Mercedes Benz air bypass valve. But it's not a Ford code.

Of course, I'd hate to think we were "waisting" our time discussing it.

Agreed. Although it's not THAT intrusive, it's just enough to make me want it gone. It seems to pop up most when driving in suburban, stoplight-to-stoplight in traffic (basically scenarios where you cannot drive it like it ought to be driven). Out on back roads by myself it's never an issue.

Just wondering the results after a couple of weeks have passed. Has anyone had any problems with unplugging the harness?

Nobody has reported any problems on any of the Mustang forums that I have seen. Been some comments by people about having done it but no problems reported though.

Unplugged mine yesterday and re-installed a tune without skip-shift disabled. It's Gone. No issues or problems.

I doubt there is a U.S. car that doesn't have at least some part on it that is made in China.

It's called "Global Sourcing", in the global economy that is the way it works and will only be more so in the years to come.

China, India, Taiwan, S. Korea, etc...

back of the iphone states designed by Apple in California, assembled in China. i've noticed they've don't say "Made in China" like how other products usually are. they now say assembled, maybe it's for people to think they're still getting US quality at a Chinese plant?

i wish i had the money to buy a 2011/12 to do this. of course, i'd probably would have gotten a tune and gotten the skip shift disabled any ways.
