Easier method for disabling traction control/advancetrac
Am I not allowed to ask the question?
I don't know how to disable it while moving. I wish I could too. Sometimes while out for a nice drive in the middle of nowhere, a perfect opportunity comes up where you can let the back end out a bit while maintaining a strong speed but then you remember oh yeah... I only turned TC off and not all of it.
Then again though, I guess it is for the greater good. I wouldn't say I'd endanger anyone else since it'd be irresponsible to do that around people... but man there are some ample opportunities in the Texas countryside.
When you know you're going to drive your car like it was intended to be driven, just push and hold the button for 5 seconds before you get moving. At track days I switch everything off as soon as I turn the key.
Before 2004 most cars didn't even have electronic stability control, and they were perfectly safe to drive as long as you knew how to hold your own. If you know how to drive your car you don't need it in the first place.

My '14 Mustang GT is the first car I've owned with traction & stability control. And I've survived all of those years, imagine that....
I, too, am thinking about how to "reverse polarity" on this feature: traction & stability off as the default, traction and stability on as the option. The OP asks a good question.
