Easier method for disabling traction control/advancetrac

Is there any way to change how you turn off advancetrac and traction control, instead of having to hold the brake AND the button, while idling? Is there any way a tune could change that?

It's SUPER annoying when I want to have a little fun in the snow, but didn't disable it before hand.

I never found it to be that annoying to turn everything off. Just hold the button for 5 seconds. I turn it off driving down the road, just barely touch the brake pedal and hold the button down.

What happens on GT's when you double click the button? On mine it goes into "sport mode." Nice because it'll let you hang the rear out and get a little stupid, but will step in if you lose control. Not sure if that's a boss feature, or available on all trims, but try it.

Same here on a 500.

On mine you have to be stopped for it to turn everything off. I can do sport mode while moving though.

Hmmm, wonder why mine doesn't? Have you actually tried it? Take your foot off the gas while rolling down the road, press the brake pedal just enough to activate the brake lights and hold the button down.

Unless I am doing a burnout, I always leave it on. It saved my a** twice now.

Yes, unless the car is stopped it won't work for me. Have tried it on the freeway a few times.

Someone on another Forum wired up a switch to turn off all the traction control things. He didn't get much 'love'. A couple people liked the idea but most didn't

Yeah, but did the switch essentially cut the traction control fuse, thus killing ABS, or was it functionally the same as long pressing the TC button?

Limit yourself to sport mode. That's all we need is another Mustang on YouTube doing something stupid.

How is it done with those?

I get the feeling that TCS is likely programmed to some module that really can't be "edited" so to say.

In those years the tcs can be completely turned off full time in a custom sct tune, or you can install a simple Bosch relay triggered off a wire in the radio harness that pulses the tcs wire to ground IIRC basically simulating pushing the tcs button every time the ignition is cycled on. There's a thread here somewhere, I did the mod on my blue car way back when around 06 or 07.

Well let me ask you this when are you having a little fun in the snow? On actual roads? your saying you can't stop anywhere to disable it then have a little fun or do you need to go from in control to out of control quickly. Seems like a terrible idea, especially if you are on public roads.

Thanks for the advice.

Oh come down off the soap box, some would say having a 600hp street car is a terrible idea too. It's a simple question about disabling it easier.

Pretty simple idea. Disable it right after starting the car. It will become habit after a while.

Also, if you want to turn it off and you've been driving, STOP THE CAR. Seriously, how bad is 5 seconds? A stoplight is longer than that.
