Dual tunes in SCT?

Last year I ordered an SCT tuner with 3 tunes from Bamachips but because Doug couldn't deliever, I canceled the order and ordered from Brenspeed. Now I see Doug is with American Muscle so I was wondering if one could buy a single 93 Octane tune from Bama via American Muscle and replace the 89 octane tune in my SCT. Then I would have an 87 and 93 octane tunes from Brenspeed and a 93 tune from Doug in the SCT unit itself. That would make it very, very easy to compare both companies almost instantly.

But I am not sure if this is possbile. I know for $50 I can order a tune from Bama but I don'[t know how to download to my PC and download to the SCT to replace just one tune. Anyone else try having two tunes from 2 different tuners loaded in the SCT at the same time?

I want to try Bama's 93 tune as I am not sure if I am happy with my Brenspeed 93 tune. With the Brenspeed there is like a huge difference at 3000 rpm, accelerating though the rpms, once you hit 3000 or so rpm, it feels like the secondaries of a 4 barrel kicking in. So I am not sure if I am getting any benefit below 3000. Also, when the engine is cold, the car bucks as the pedal is super super sensitive until it warms up a little. And for $50 I feel I can't go wrong trying a Bama tune.

Yes it can be done, I always change tunes in my SCT. Click the link below for TacoBill's tutorial.

It's really pretty easy, they e-mail the tunes to you and then you will always have the tune files on your PC or laptop.

OK, ordered today a Bama tune from American Muscle. Hope to have it emailed to me soon. Still haven't reviewed how to download a tune from my PC to my tuner (X3). I spent 8 hours yesterday trying to download the firmware update to my tuner with my Windows Vista 64 bit system and it didn't work. Finally I tried it with my laptop running XP and it took about 1 min! Now that my tuner has the latest firmware, I can concenrate on how to download a tune to the tuner.

P.S. I have been driving around past copule of days with the stock tune and boy you can find the difference between it and the Brenspeed tune. And not just the acceleration. The exhaust sounds different, the engine braking, cold running, alot of differences.

Well, today AM emailed me my new Bama 93 tune and I uploaded it to my tuner and loaded it into my GT, was pretty simple to do.

I only was able to drive the car to work so not alot of time to formulate any impressions except the top end, over 3000 seems strong with no power surge that the Brenspeed tune has. I am not sure if I have lost some low end torque with the Bama 93 tune. I checked the AM and Bamachip web sites and I didn't see any good explaination of what each tune does (87, 89, 93) in terms of power, torque and response.

I don't race my car so I don't ususally need max power at 6500 rpm. Most of my driving is stop and go, 0 - 45mph and back to 0. But I want to get to 45mph as fast as possible. Maybe I need the Bama 87 tune which I read once somewhere increases low end torque over top end horsepower. I need to contact AM and see. So far I have been very happy with AM's customer service.

These issues are the main problem with "canned" tunes.

Also the main reason it is best to talk directly with the guy writing the tune so he can maybe adjust the tune to your individual preferences.
