drive test Steeda CAI and tune.

Just came back from doing a ride in the newly Steeda tuned 5.0
The car is a totally different beast, it pulls very hard through all gears. Throttle response is improved a lot over stock tune. Noticed better low end grunt, power band is just everywhere. It really wakes the car up. Nice thing is you can really hear the air being sucked in through the CAI, even from the inside with sound tube still connected. At WOT it pulls like it wants to take off, it's even scary to a point. Sound at idle is more noticeable. But this beast needs an exhaust bad with a tune like this.
Was doing 60 in 5th gear with buddy in his 5.0 in front of me , saw this highly modified Audi pulling right beside me like he wanted to go, so i proceeded into middle lane and floored it till at least 7000RPM and passed him like a rocket shooting for the stars. My friend in his 5.0 rolled down his window to hear my car pass by when at WOT and said the sound was just crazy.
Very happy with the tune.
On a less positive note, i noticed that the skip shift is still programmed in the ECU, was told by Steeda people that it would be taken care of.
Will have to look into this with them and my vendor.
Something else has happened but i'll post a new thread on it. So go read it boys.

Same, thinking of C&L CAI though. Good stuff Dan, be sure to report back once you've had a few more km's in her.

Awesome

Too bad he has to row his window down to hear the exhaust, but like you said that will change soon enough

OOOOOO Ya I told ya so,

just wait untill you do the exhaust.I finally got my car to do the skip shift but It's not a problem for me.I just ignore it and I've only had it activate once since getting my car.Glad you got your CAI and tune installed and now you can top it off with exhaust!!!!

Did Steeda ever get the Skip shift thing taken care of?

I really want to get this feature removed as it is driving me crazy.

Gus told me they're working on it. Maybe a few weeks. They'll crack it up. Obviously i don't think Ford is of any help !

There has to be a mechanical way to disable the skip-shift.

I know it can be done, I'm sure I could figure it out if I had my hands on one.
