Does the Boss 302 have a different OEM shifter than the Standard GT?
Hey all,
I sat in a 2012 Boss 302 the other day and I noticed the shifter linkage was shorter and more precise than my standard GT w/ 3.31 gears. Would anyone happen to know if Ford spec's a different a shifter for the Boss? Which aftermarket shifter would most closely resemble that feel? Thanks

Steeda Tri-Ax and their shifter bracket with the red insert. I don't know if there are differences between the GT and Boss, but that combo fixes the sloppiness of the stock shifter, reduces the throw, and is a little less extreme than the MGW.

Thanks - I've been looking to upgrade my shifter and I've been leaning towards the tri x due to the closeness to the OEM design. Just hope ford doesn't give me an issue if I have a tranny problem...

I installed a Steeda Tri-Ax last weekend. Very happy with the improved feel. Slightly more noise in the cabin, but the improved feel is worth it.
You may want to look at the other threads about installation. It isn't hard - but you'll either need a 10mm Gearwrench or crow's foot to get the shifter assembly in and out. Those bolts are pretty much impossible to get at otherwise. The nuts for the shift bushing are easy enough - but you do need a deep socket. Oh - and the instruction sheet doesn't list the torque specs on the nuts - I have no idea why they ommited that. It's 97 in/lbs.

Sir im sorry to tell you this but you are horribly mis-imformed, the sloppiness resides in the crappy shifter bracket.
