Does anyone else not give a **** about a fancy shmancy interior?
I actually liked the interior in my '05 better. It was so much simpler. No stupid electronic mirror that doesn't work worth a ****, center cluster wasn't loaded with 40 some buttons. Gauges were much better. TCS turned off with a quick push instead of holding for 5 seconds or accidentally poping the trunk.
I love the 5.0 but as far as the rest of the car goes, I actually miss my old one.

I went from driving my volvo 740 (new to 422k miles) to my plain Jane '10 v6 vert non premium. I went from suede (alcantra) seats to cloth. 8 speakers to 4 etc etc etc.
I absolutely don't mind my plain Jane interior. EXCEPT- the radio face that comes from the factory scratched and the crappy steering wheel. I think ford failed on the steering wheel.

Interior mods were the first thing I did on my 2012 gt, and they were well worth it. It is muscle with just a touch of class. I will never go back to the plain interior it came with.
I like a nice interior, so I got the premium. It's much nicer, IMO... but it could be better. And I think about it every time I drive the Taurus. The seats especially are miles better in that than the Mustang.
The interior is what stopped me from buying a 2011Mustang, even with the Premium. Then again I'm in my mid 40s and I think it started where I cared what the interior was like when I got in a buddies brand new 2000 BMW 328i, which interior wise was light years ahead of my 98 Mustang Cobra back then. That was the day horsepower wasn't everything...It meant alot but it wasn't anything anymore.
After owning now several BMWs and a PCar I do care now about the interior..you have to live with it everyday. I do think alot of this is going to be based on age. Up to my early 30s it was all about going fast, its still that now but I want a nice interior while doing it.

IMO I like the darker accents like the dash in the California Special. I could lose the chrome around the door handles and speakers and go with more of a natural nickel look. With that being said I do like the sync and now that I have had it I find myself not being able to not have it.
I love leather but admit here in Texas my butt gets sweaty and would prefer suede or cooled seats.
Basically I like the frilly stuff like ambient lighting, sync and air cooled seats but would prefer the look to be not so "bling" and more natural ( no wood)

I for the most part like my interior. I have the 400a leather premium package. The driver seat is wearing in a bit faster than I'd prefer. My seat looks like it has 25,000 miles on it rather than 2,500. I only wish that the back of the seat held ya better when cornering tight. My 2010 Fusion Sport had better support. Also I feel the seat belt locking under hard driving is more of a safety hazard than anything. I'm the type that needs to look out back through the side to be sure I'm clear, I don't trust the blind spot mirrors yet.
Being able to change my guage color is a cool feature too. I can never make up my mind though and haven't figured out how to set the "my color" feature yet. Now that I've had sync for the last 2 years, I don't know what I'd do without it. Bluetooth music syncing is great too. However now with the Roush exhaust it's harder to talk on the phone through it. Just wish I would've went with the shaker 1000 just for the sub.

The regular premium interior wasn't posh enough for me so I went 401a. Well worth it. I think you don't care about a nice interior until you've had one. Once you get used to it, you prefer and eventually it becomes a necessity.
I'm glad that I didn't get the 401 because the seats will turn to crap a lot quicker than the 400 package.

Fair enough. A friend of mine has a 2010 base GT and I didn't like it enough to decide that if I had to buy a base car, I wouldn't. I would rather save money longer and get the premium. Ultimately it took me three years to get to where I wanted to be to purchase the car and ended up with the car in my sig. The friend with the base car never cared about any of the "upgrades" until he bought his wife a 2011 loaded Explorer. Now he wishes he had gone with the premium car.
I went from the base interior in a 94 to the premium interior in an 01 to a Lincoln Aviator with heated/cooled seats in 05. I love every part of the 401A, plus Sync and the Shaker is plenty of stereo for me. I just sent Google maps directions to my car the other day for the first time and man was that great. To each his own though.

Have you brought this seat issue to your Ford dealers attention? If not, I recommend you make an appointment with them so they can look at them. Then, please message me with your contact info, VIN, and dealer info so I can escalate this for you. Also, here are the steps for your MyColor: Note: Headlamps or parking lamps must be on to set up colors.
To choose colors for the gauges, halo color or ambient lighting do the following:
1. Press SETUP to reach the GAUGE COLOR, AMBIENT COLOR, or HALO COLOR menu.
2. Press RESET to scroll through the following color options:
ICE BLUE BLUE
WHITE ORANGE
GREEN RED
PURPLE MYCOLOR 1, 2, 3 (See HOLD RESET TO SET MY COLOR 1, 2, 3 following to save personalizedcolor combinations).
This info can be found on page 22 in your owner manual.
