Do most 2014 GT premiums have the NAV screen??
I realize this will be a very small sample size but I was wondering how many 2014 GT premium cars have the NAV screen? I do NOT have one in the car i just bought and it was one of the big draws for me. I really dislike them and only put up with the one in my 2020 R/T because there is no choice. Having to operate two different types was not appealing to me. Was I lucky finding this one or is it about a 50/50 proposition?
not sure, but it was a special option package and I'm guessing that much less than half have them
personally I hate touch-screens and menu-driven controls in cars, seems like about the worst idea ever ... who wants to hunt through a menu system when you are driving down the highway and the windshield just fogged up, just to turn on the defroster?

Agreed! If the auto manufacturers are so concerned over crash safety improvements as they claim, touch screen technology isn't the solution... That said, I'll take good old fashioned analog technology, hands down...
Probably less than 30% since the Electronics package was a $2400 option that most dealer ordered cars did not have.
The Electronics package also has a Hard drive, the only way a Mustang Factory Radio had HD and the Marriage saver the dual zone auto temp heat and air. Plus if I use the Navigation in the car I am not telling Google or Apple where I am going all the time.
Full-color, voice-activated travel guide with SiriusXM. The Navigation System2 includes a 6-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Traffic and Travel Link to bring you over 130 channels of commercial-free music, plus sports, news, talk and entertainment (also featured without navigation). Drive smarter with the ability to look up fuel prices, check local and national weather, get alerts on traffic-related incidents, receive alternate route suggestions and much more. Turn-by-turn directions are offered in your choice of Fastest, Shortest or Eco Route. This system features a vibrant 8" LCD touch screen with interactive maps you can zoom and scroll. It also responds to voice commands for hands-free control. Play DVDs while Mustang is in Park and store nearly 10 gigs of your digital music.
Also John, the defroster is turned on the same way as yours, one button on and then fan controls without having to touch the screen, most commands can not be done while moving either including typing in destinations.
Plus the Back up Camera is not in the mirror
Siber is spot on. The Navigation package was an additional $2400 option. I agree the option is probably hard to come by and far less than half the Premiums will likely have it. Nav and Camera will be even fewer. If I remember correctly the backup camera came with a funky rear spoiler option. Then there were the extra backup sensors too. Those two were 385 for the camera and 695 for the backup sensors. I opted not to get any of those when ordered mine. Sometimes the camera would be nice... But really don't use the nav options in either of my Jeep GCs. Both have it, but I do not use it. Mostly because the iPhone nav is much easier and works for my navigator to operate while the car is moving.
Just felt the $2400 for the camera was too steep a price when I ordered mine, especially since I knew I would never use it.
Over the years I have never came across any build info for the full 2014 Mustang builds but I do have the GT500 & GT/CS numbers. Was surprised that of the 5,730 GT500's 4,688 of them had the navigation option. So over 80% of those have it. Of the 4,533 2014 GT/CS built 2,241 had Navigation. So Just under 50% on this model.
I do know 40,798 GT's were built and 33,247 were coupes so 7,551 were convertibles. 20,673 had the manual transmission so 20,125 were automatics. Did some internet searching and found a post here that says there were 6,111 cars with Electronic Package/Navigation. So looks like about 15% which I believe is for all GTs (Which would also include the GT/CS).

I have the numbers for the MCA cars and less than 20% (19.61%) of them had the Electronics package.
Mine was ordered without the Camera but everything else I wanted was on the car and I added the back up Camera. I see it was on yours so with yours and no Nav it was a $385 option but it was $240 with the Electronics Package, so with the Nav and Back up Camera was $2600.
58N Electronics Package (Nav & DZATC) 2,088 2,340
77C Rear Video Camera with Electronics Pkg (Equip Group 201A,202A,203A,400A,401A) 214 240
Rear Video Camera without Electronics Pkg (Equip Group 201A,202A,203A,400A,401A) 344 385
No California Specials or Shelby GT500s had a back up camera from the factory because the only way to get it was with the mid height spoiler.

...

understood, that is definitely way better (IMHO) that some of the systems I have seen (in rental cars) where everything goes though the touch-screen menus ... I have literally driven out of an airport in an unfamiliar rental car, got on the highway, suddenly the windshield fogged up, and I just about crashed the car trying to figure out how to navigate the menus to find the defroster control
I ordered my 2014 with the tech package. Recently upgraded the unit with an aftermarket one. The original nav and screen is awful in my opinion. Having CarPlay is worth the cost.
