Display low for select shift
Curious if any of the other auto owners have issues with their selected gear display being low when in select shift. As you can see by the picture part of the 2nd is cut off and its the same for the other gears. Also, at times seems my display is crooked when my OCD kicks in.

I don't have that problem. Have you tried it with other info in the main part of the display? I can't think why that should make a difference, but you never know.

From what I can tell, I think your LCD screen inside the instrument cluster is not aligned and it pitched at an angle, might want to go see a dealer, and get it fixed.

I wish it would display what gear the car is in currently when you move the selector to "S". Would make it easier to avoid downshifting too far (other than using the tach which is also affected by engine braking). I wouldn't mind actually seeing what gear the car is in when it is shifting itself in "S" as well?!?

Use the 2 black 'tabs' behind the wheel to center the wheel. Use the wheel when centered to center your sight picture. If you have the wheel correct, the display will now look 'centered' and rotated correctly.
Ford did a great job creating an optical illusion with the LCD display.
I took mine completely a part and found out there isn't any way for it to rotate and be mounted incorrectly. lol.
There is a mask on the overlay rings that may be out of place. The assy just pops off, pull on the rings with the wheel down out of the way. Easy as pie.

Hmm. I wonder if maybe the black part under the screen isn't straight. If you look at the "door ajar" box, in the pic at least, it's straight across the top.

The guage overlay is all one piece with a cutout for the LCD. my guess is the LCD is defective or not properly aligned in the cluster. I think the dealer would need to replace cluster to fix it.

When I changed my overlay, I noticed that the gear selection was also cut off. I had to take it apart again and align it better to see the gear number.
You could do this yourself, if you are comfortable with pulling the needles off.

I changed the gauge faces on my 91 by using the fork method to remove the needles. How do the newer needles come off?

I used a butter knife and made sure I pulled straight up. Aligning them again was a pain.
You could then see if the screen was in there straight.
Another option is to trim the bottom of the window so you can see the gear number.

I swapped my overlay using a teaspoon on each side of needle. Let's you pry up evenly. There are alignment notches so the overlay is not very adjustable.

Thanks guys. I will have to give it try when I get time. Im not a big fan of the dealer working on my car for minor things since I usually find faults in their work.
