Dealer Inventory-Afraid of $40k?
Dealer Inventory-Afraid of $40k?
Been looking at the listed dealer inventory around some major cities and it almost seems like they're avoiding hitting the $40k MSRP mark. Hard to find one that has all the major option packages. Makes me happy though that I ordered one.
That's very possible. In general, most people don't like to pay for options. They only wanna pay for the cheapest version, and then whine about the options that they didn't want before. So it'd be smart on the dealership's part to not order too many options.
Come look in the NY area ... all the ones around me are close to 40k lol
Congrats on the new ride!!! Have you driven a 5.0 yet?
I ordered a DIB 301A with the track pack and recaros 5 days before you did lol

Oh yeah I drove one and instantly sold. I had an '02 and now have a Mazda Speed 3 which is plenty fun to drive but still not a a Mustang
When the 2005 Mustang arrived, a premium GT coupe could be had for about 30K; add 5K for a convertible. When I looked earlier this year, I had found that prices had gone up $5,000 since the '05s. I wanted a convertible, but $40K was too rich for my blood. With the early introduction of the 2013 models, I was able to ****** up a new 2012 for $6,000 off. The car is amazing. All of us are lucky to have 5.0 GTs.
Congratulations to those of you that have ordered your new cars. IMO, the Mustang GT is the best American car on the road. The 2012 is way faster than my 2001!

Me too hahaha, the transmission is smooth as silk compared to the T-5 in my V6 and the clutch is feather light! I love the 5.0, it just has so much power stock, I can't wait to void my warranty and try for 550HP N/A
I remember looking at New Edges when I was 14 and they were 18k starting price

Heck my V6 was 27k with a bunch of options in it
I remember when I was younger and the svt focus came out. It started at $16,500 and with options was 19,000 ish for a top of the line model with option. Now thats cheaper then they charge for the base.
The dealers order what they think will be popular. It will almost be impossible to find a fully loaded car on the lot, unless it's a Boss or a Shelby, which are already pretty much as pimped out as they can be.
