Dealer installation options

Hi all,

I have ordered a 2014 GT with an ETA on 8/20. I did not opt for the comfort package, but have second thoughts about getting it especially for the powered passenger seat. Does anyone know if the dealer install this option after market and a price range? Also what other dealer options are there?

Thanks!

You'll be looking at mega bucks to add that stuff after the fact.

Just live with it as is or get a different car.

I hate to ask the painfully obvious question, but have you considered calling your dealer and asking him? The two prior respondents are certainly correct about the cost being very high.

Thanks all! I figured that it would cost an arm-and-a-leg to get it aftermarket and didn't want to call the dealer with the obvious, but I wanted to at least get your thoughts. I didn't think too much about the need for a powered passenger seat until my wife and younger kids wanted to ride along.

I ordered the comfort pack on mine and the power passenger seat came in handy when I had to carry adults in the back seat. We picked her up on 2/28 and had an opportunity to appreciate the seat heaters. I know from experience with our Accord sedan that the heated mirrors will come in handy at some point. Sorry you didn't order that pack. It is well worth the price.

yep my wife would have liked the PPS but I don't think she misses all that much either. Check around and see if you can find a car on the lots with the options your looking for .... I bet theres one out there

Spark, you can stop by your dealer. If the car isn't at the no change stage, he can have it added to the list. But don't wait to do this. Your pretty close to that stage, or may be passed it now. But, it's worth a shot. Good luck.

Another option is maybe the dealer would take this one for his lot, and order you one with the comfort package. I know a second waiting period would be extremely painful.

Good advice. I hadn't noticed that before, but with a build date of 8/6 it may still be possible to change your order. Call your dealer TODAY.

the power passenger seat was the reason I liked the comfort package to begin with... but realistically, how often does that get used? The heated seats DID come in handy frequently. Even in south Texas.

Once you receive your window sticker, as Spark already has, your order cannot be changed. At this stage you cannot even cancel the order, that car is being built no matter what.

Called the dealer and he said that it is too late. Oh well, a minor issue compared the the thought of getting my personalized pony. I don't want to miss the forest for the trees!

That's the way to look at the situation. If it gets to be a problem, get a travel pillow for those vertically challenged ones.. That's the only way my Wifey can see out of our '67 Camaro.

OP, hope you have some news on your ride. I would call them regardless. What i am having issues my self is that i bought a GB Base model, and now really wanting the leather, and the brembo option and brembo wheels...

Do you guys think it will cost a lot to get it installed by ford now? I had the car for 4 months. Or will I be better off buying on EBAY?

I called the dealer and he said it was too late. My blend and build date is tomorrow 8/6. Hope you can call and get good news from them. Apart from the leather package, the brembo option and wheels seem like an easier aftermarket add-on.

GB, you can always go with a good aftermarket leather company like Katzkin. I use this in a previous F-150, and the leather was really good quality. Plus, it is made with the OEM stitching.

its ok
i wish i had the glass roof, shaker 500, rear view camera...

Maybe just the brembo package and the 3.73 gearing...

But hey overall I'm happy to be behind the wheel of one - I look at it as a great all weather grand tourer w/ the lower gear ratio + heated seats
