Dealer Decal Still Visible

On the deck lid panel there used to be a dealer decal that has been long since removed. After thoroughly cleaning the car today I can see where the decal used to be. I've tried rubbing alcohol and goo gone but the outline is still visible. Any ideas on what I can use to remove it?

Is it glue residue, or is it scratches? I used WD-40 and kinda buffed mine away with a microfiber cloth.

I would polish the whole area and see what it looks like.

Definitely try a clay bar first and see if that works. I would recommend a medium duty clay bar. you really shouldn't have any residue after that. A polish would be extreme in my opinion.

A polish is not extreme, more than likely the clear around where the decal was has minor swirls and scratches.

I had the same problem. Meguiar's #2 took care of it.

Mine came off with straight ammonia...let it soak for a few minutes. A light wipe with polish finished it up.

If the decal is completely removed and you can see where it was, then the paint needs to be cleaned up in that area. Just use a mild rubbing compound, then polish. It will be permanently gone.
