Critters inside the vehicle.

Critters inside the vehicle.
New to this forum and too old also.
I posted a similar post under general chat. Got some interesting replys and ideas, but were mostly about the critters and not about the specific car and how they get in. The vehicle in question is a 2013 MCA Convertible. In your opinion is there a way that mice or snakes can enter the interior of this car and what if anything can be done to correct it. It is in a barn with the doors of the car, shut and locked. Also has a cover craft fitted car cover on it.Are there any openings that I need to close off? Heater A/C or whatever.
Would not like to head down the road and have an extra passenger inside with us.Any an all help will be much appreciated.

Have done most of the common cures to try and keep the critters out of the barn, IE Moth *****, bait blocks glue boards and so on. But my main concern is the car it self. Is there anything that should be done to it.

they can get in through holes in the firewall and a host of other places. I would seal off the exhaust pipe. peppermint oil is supposed to deter mice. that may not stop them from nesting in the fenders and such, though. maybe buy a cat...

Have sprayed all the questionable areas with an expensive liquid that exterminators use, Yes it is a blend of peppermint and other oils that are proven deterants. problem is if you block the entrance with this stuff so they won't cross they will also not cross to leave if they were already in the building. Also that stuff will stain paint. I could stick a stainless steel wool pad in each tail pipe. They can't chew thru steel wool and if you forgot to take it out they would just blow out anyway. However if they did go in the exhaust could they get thru the cats? or out to the interior. I was more thinking if anyone knew of any drain holes that need to be blocked with stainless steel wool so that they would still drain but would prevent entrance?Real cats can cause more problem then critters. Plus you have to feed them. Lin would not allow us to have a cat and keep it hungry and that means food to attract other critters while the cat is sleeping. Thanks again to all that have posted.

Sure can but it gives you another barrier and if you have poison the barrier will delay that sucker and he sits before it gets to the car.

I haven't had any visitors inside the car but I have interlopers that like my engine. Over the past few months I've been noticing my engine becoming dirty for no reason and what I've determined to be rat droppings. Really gross. I haven't found anything chewed up so no damage yet.
Anyway, the past two weeks I've had dryer sheets placed under the hood and I think they're working. Yesterday I checked it out and I found one lowly rat crap and no mess. The engine is still clean. I did notice that the beastie tried to nibble the edge of a dryer sheet. Looks like the taste is not worth the effort for the vermin.
I've never had this problem here where I live. I have a feeling that my tenant who owns a food truck that he parks on the street is a calling card for the little bastards.
