Coolant/Antifreeze type needed

This will be the first time flushing the system on my new 5.0, it's my understanding that new coolant was used by ford after MY11, I originally used Prestone 50/50 green in my 07 for flushes, what's the auto store equivalent to the orange that ford has in the manual for our 5.0s. Thanks.

Far as I know, there isn't one. Go to your dealer and buy the Motorcraft OEM coolant.

I used dex-cool. I researched this when I filled my heat exchanger and dex-cool is equivalent to Fords coolant.

Dexcool isn't exactly the same stuff, similar type maybe, but I wouldn't mix them.

Ford coolant part number is VC-3-B.

I wouldn't mix

You could replace with but the best thing is to match what's in there unless you drain it all out

Just my worthless opinion

Preston's DexCool meets Ford spec WSS-M97B44-D for the coolant in my 2012 GT, so I'm perfectly comfortable using it. Kinda like using motor oil that meets Ford specs. It will be fine.
