Hey guys did anybody check out the recent consumer reports magazine for October2009.
It rates the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, SubaruWRX, and 370z.

Even though the mustang came out on top i must say i am hugely dissappointed in the Consumer Reports tests. They clocked it in at 14.3 in the quarter? And 0-60mph at 5.7? Are they going easy on the 2010? i figured it would do much better than that

Heres the stats:

Mustang Gt Premium - 5.7 for 0-60 test, 14.3 quarter mile

Camaro 2SS- 5.1 for 0-60 test, 13.6 quarter mile

Genesis Coupe 3.8L- 6.2 for 0-60 test, 14.6 quarter mile

Challenger R/T- 5.9 for 0-60 test, 14.3 quarter mile

WRX 2.5L turbo- 5.3 for 0-60 test, 14.0 quarter mile

370z- 5.3 for 0-60 test, 13.9 quarter mile


i guess im a little upset with the fact that the challenger even though its as big as a royal carribbean cruise ship it was just as good as the mustang and the wrx beat it out.i thought the stang was superior compared to the wrx and challenger? i could understand the 370z and camaro has an edge over the stang but 5.7 for 0-60? 14.3 in quarter?? thats all its got in stock trim?

 

The mustang they tested probably didn't have 3.73 gears.

 

I have seen other reviews where the 0 - 60 times were from 4.9 to 5.3 seconds. Usually the Camaro is 3/10 second faster.

Consumer Reports also test microwaves and DVD players. I doubt they have the best drivers out there. All those times are pretty slow.
