Black is common to the point that in my small company we have three black 10+ mustangs, and two black camaros in the lot.

I went with race red, but it's not my favorite red. It's an orangy red in daylight. Looks better at dusk. I prefer the bloodier or cherry reds that have more blue in them. We have 3 red cars, so I'm biased. Black would probably be my favorite, but I just don't feel like all the effort that it takes to make it look perfect.

I ordered my 2013, because I wanted the track pack and there just weren't any around in red with the features I wanted. Took exactly 8 weeks from order to delivery. I bargained with the dealer on the price before I even ordered, which was right around invoice. Then got the $1000 rebate, and $750 coupon on top of that.

If you want the best, pick Black.

I went with race red with white stripes and I love the look. Based on the compliments and looks I get, a lot of people love it too.

I've seen some beautiful new white ones too though.

The race red is too orange on a bright sunny day for me. Red candy looks great in the bright sunlight but turns to dark maroon on a cloudy day or when parked in the shade. We already have a black Mustang so we chose white.

The problem with white vehicles is that they can very easliy look like commercial vehicles. Make sure to dress up the white with color or black accents here & there. Chrome wheels look great on a white car. Check the threads by color here to see lots of pictures of the red cars & the white cars.

I'd always planned on getting a Chrome Yellow/Screaming Yellow Mustang but that color went away a few years back, so when I started shopping for my '11, I was open to just about anything. I liked red but thought it would be too common. Now that I've had it for a year, that fear was unfounded - there are a lot more silver, black, white and even blue Mustangs than red, at least in my completely unscientific opinion.

Race Red attracts the right kind of attention, doesn't look dirty as quick as DIB or Black, is a classic Mustang color and I'm really happy with my choice. White is now the most common color there is for cars, and though it can be made to look nice, definitely not my cup of tea. I didn't buy this car to blend in

For me, it was the Race Red hands down. Check out the photos on my profile. I also considered the white. I test drove a white convertible with the black and red leather interior. The dealer worked me to buy that car, but in the end, I decided that it had to be red w/ black interior. I was glad that I held out for what I really wanted.

Like you, I wanted very particular options on my car, Track Package being one of them. I searched high and low for a dealer with 100 mi of me that had a Track Package car, and I couldn't find one. I ended up custom ordering to get exactly what I want.

I think white looks really good on the 13s, it was my 2nd color choice after DIB. My advice: waiting for a custom order to come in sucks. If your dealer can get you one with the Track Package today I say jump on it.

I talked to the dealer and found ok the price is decided before you order, so my next question is does anyone know if the down payment/trade in is needed at time of order or on delivery of the new car?

Delivery. For example we were promised 3500 for our '04 Beetle Convertible, and put like 4k on it after their offer, and they were bound to that offer.

Ok thanks, guess it would be safe to count the 3k I can save in the 6-8 weeks of build time in on the down payment?
