Chasing a 911 GT3

First, I apologize for terrible video. I had the GoPro pointed waaay too high, so the white balance was all of. I got it view-able thanks to video editing.

Newer 911 GT3. Sounds awesome! And i passed him twice that day

Always fun to keep pace with the fancy race cars! Nicely done! Now to work on your video skills 😋

What? You don't like the up close view of the upholstery?

I'll find a better mounting for the GoPro before Mid-Ohio on Monday.

Get a suction cup mount for your gopro and mount on top of your hood.

The hood shakes way too much. Mount it on your windshield.

Outside: mount it in front of mirror above wiper area. You will get a ton of wind noise though.

Inside: mount just below your mirror.

Thanks for the tips guys. I do have the suction cup so I can mount outside, or on the windshield. But I was really hoping to get a helmet mount so I an see my shifting and steering inputs. This way I can analyze my driving and make small improvements for next time. Of course it would help to be able to see outside the car.

I think I need one of these:

Nice driving, it is good to see what these cars are capable of in the right hands. Your video skills are similar to mine. I tried mounting on a bar attached to the headrest. The first run it was on the drivers seat and my shoulder blocked the steering wheel and gauges too much, but I got great footage of the passenger side dash. I moved it to the passenger seat and it was better. Finally, I put it on the roof just above the windshield and liked that perspective, but you get a lot of wind noise.

Thanks! And yes, I'm not quite a camera man. But for tomorrows track day at Mid Ohio I removed the visor and mounted the go pro just above my eyes. Took a sample video in my driveway and it looked much better. You could still see the shifting, and good view outside the car. Wish me luck!

Good luck at Mid Ohio. I am just starting to play with cameras in/on the car since completing my first track weekend. I saw a nice microphone set up last weekend that captures the sound of the car without all the wind. The car pitted next to me had a microphone mounted at the exhaust pipe with the wire run through a grommet in the trunk to a Go Pro mounted to a head rest bar. The sound on his videos sounded like a movie car chase. I am looking into the set up for next time. He said it was less than $20 from Amazon.
