JL still makes good amps and subs, but they're usually more expensive for what you get. I'm a huge fan of 5-6ch amps to run the whole system off one amp. JL's 900/5 HD is a great amp, packing lots of power in a tiny package. As for JBL, I honestly haven't come across their products in a while. I remember they made good stuff back then, but don't know about their quality now.

What I can say, is that I'm not a fan of JL speakers, minus the ZR stuff, and even then I'm not a big fan of the tweeters. If you're looking for bang for your buck, I'd look into the ID components, Hertz HSK165XLs or new Focal Polyglass. I used to hate the Polyglass tweeters, but the new ones are really good for the pricepoint.

And I guess it's not common for installers to tune the system. I guess that's just part of the higher level of customer service that we imparted on our clients...

It's good that you do. It's like people who buy HD TVs and Home Theater systems and don't get them properly calibrated. I'm not talking the Best Buy Calibration but from a real ISF pro. The buyer isn't getting their money worth.

I won't be able to look at anything for about another week. I just started a new job this week and will be busy all weekend.

Sounds good. I wish I could say the same, since I just lost mine this past Friday .

I was laid off twice in the last year. I know how it is. Just hang in there. A lot of talented people are competing for very few jobs. Just remember not to take it personal as so many people are in the same boat right now.

Sorry to hear that Patrick. I was in your situation up until a year ago tomorrow. Keep your head up and don't give up. Be persistent as it does payoff.

Thanks guys. I'm actually talking to my local Ford dealer tomorrow. They have a few positions open. Cross your fingers for me!
