Canadians buying USA spec mustangs?
Anyone here from Canada gone across the border to pickup a GT?
Or any car for that matter.
I'd like to know if its worthwhile to buy in the US as apposed to Canada.
We are always more expensive here.
Last I checked the difference was around 8Gs.
I want to get 2013 GT and I'm sure Ford won't be offering much in rebates since 2012 was the year for that.
So my concerns are:
- what mods are needed to pass into Canada
- Do you pay US state taxes
- Do you pay Canada Province tax for Customs
- What is the duty for customs
- anything else?
thanks

Get the DRL's turned on. PM me when you are at that point.
- Do you pay US state taxes
Depends upon the state. No taxes in NY.
- Do you pay Canada Province tax for Customs
GST/HST at the border, provincial sales tax at time of registration
- What is the duty for customs
None, but there is a 100$ A/C tax that you would have paid anyway
- anything else?
Go to the Registrar of Imported Vehicles website. There you will find all the info you need. You can even create a customized checklist of the steps to bring your car in. For a 2013 car, you will have to wait until Ford tells Transport Canada that the 2013 cars meet Canadian specs.
