Caliper Covers?
I've searched and I can't seem to find too many opinions on the MGP caliper covers. I'm considering them to go with the slotted/drilled rotors I have waiting for me at home. (I went with stock size rotors in order to keep my spare.) I have not seen a set in person to really judge them. For those of you that have seenthem, or have them, what's your opinion? I don't want to put something on that will not look good. I also don't want to part with a couple thousand $ either for a something that would just be for looks since I don't track the car. Thanks

I had them installed on my 2005 GT and liked them (no longer own) and currently on my 2003 Cobra.
Sure beats painting the calipers and touching up every 6 months.
Word of caution, I read on a forum somewhere that someone ordered a set and they did not fit their 2011 very well and sent them back.

You can't be serious? $200+ for a set of stick on caliper covers?!?
Spend $50, get some dedicated caliper paint, and paint them yourself. Or, better yet, if you can park the car without a problem, take them and get the calipers powdercoated whichever color you like. They'll look just as good and won't be "rice" to the people who know better.

One of the 2010 guys on here has them (red) on his black 2010 GT. They look pretty good, but for the price I'd rather take the calipers and have them powdercoated as Steve suggested.

I don't really care how good they look, stick-on/bolt-on covers over your brakes don't seem like a worthwhile investment for a car. These things have to hinder cooling for your brakes to some degree, and the price for a totally unnecessary visual mod is outrageous.

I have them and after installing them my first thought was... "Why didn't I do this sooner!" Over the past two years I've read and heard all the opinions and went with painting my calipers but the paint kept chipping and after six months they looked like crap again. I finally said screw it and purchased a set. I couldn't be happier with the end result.
OP if you want a set go ahead and buy 'em. Don't listen to the negitive comments. Remember... they're just opinions...

Looks like a pretty even opinion both for and against. I'm still undecided but I never considered powder coating. Any idea how much that would cost? What kind of shop usually does powder coating so I know where to start looking?
D'Prived, they look great on yours! Your car looks fantastic! Thanks for the pics.

The thing that I like about the covers versus powdercoating is they make the calipers look a lot smoother and bigger. The standard 2005-2010 GT and 2011+ V6 calipers look so ugly and small. The 2011 standard GT calipers look a lot nicer, so I wouldn't mind painting/powdercoating those.
